Demanufacture (Roadrunner Records 25th Anniversary Edition) - Fear Factory

Advantages: Great collaboration, rare recordings, rare footage
Disadvantages: Maybe not your thang

...although it pays to shop around. You will recognise the CD from the front picture (photo taken at the New York Palladium 21.9.79) as it is the same as the one that appeared on the original album with the embellishment of “25th Anniversary Edition” emblazoned down the left-hand side. This offering will appeal to fans of rock music who prefer their music raw and with an edge. In today’s terms, maybe Green Day would be as up to the minute as I can think but The Clash do belong on a level all of their own. The Clash is among my all time favourite musical acts and one of my great regrets is never having seen them perform live. I can’t recommend them and this package highly enough. Advantages: original , raw sound , interesting vocal style , great guitar riffs
Disadvantages: lack of awesome drumming when compared with later works , slightly repetitive

..., so if you are more into later fear factory albums such as digimortal or transgression you may not like this album much. However for a debut album this is a remarkable feat and as a long time fear factory fan this is definitely a favourite of mine , along side Demanufacture. Stand Out Tracks Martyr - The first track. Although not the most heaviest on the album the lyrics are some of the best here, the guitar parts are incredibly catchy while not comprimising a raw and harsh death metal sound. This is my favourite track on the album and one Fear Factory regularly play at their shows. Scum Grief - Another very powerful track, this is where Bell's vocal talents are best heard, there is a nice balance between the vocal styles here, the song is 4 minutes long, and has more than enough variety with guitar parts to keep the listener engaged... ...Repacked for the third time, "Thriller" by Michael Jackson is quite simply one of the best pop albums of all time. It is an album that inspired a generation of recording artists and its songs all stand up to the level of music being produced today. This 25th Anniversary edition has been received by some as something of a let down. It's fair to say the remix of Bliie Jean by Kanye West and the version of Wanna Be Startin' Something with Akon have really added nothing to the album. However, Fergie gives a good account of herself in "Beat It 2008" and how can you give this album anything other than 5 stars when it has the original "Thriller" album in its entirety, WITH bonus tracks.
