Advantages: Raw mindblasting sound, again. Disadvantages: Absolutely nothing.
...between order and chaos, so it will take a few spins before it all makes any sense.
Mixed by Daniel Bergstrand at his high tech Dug Out Studios, "Demigod" has a thick layered and explosive sound but it's not the typical "more layers, we need more layers… and static, put some static on as well" sound he has worked with lately, but it is a heavy and challenging sound.
Demigod is definitely a different machine than past Behemoth records - gone is the black metal influence that was held on previous records.
For any death metal fan, this IS for you. I couldn't put a score on this album because its rated far too high, but scoring it would be inappropriate anyway....

Advantages: Will inspire you to go out and buy yourslef a guitar just so you can sit in your room and pretend to play along Disadvantages: Will cause a rapid loss of heairng and brain cells
...Appetite for destruction, an album filled to the brim with, exciting, astounding, and technically excellent music. Without the amazing kickstart that this album gave them Guns'N'Roses would have been much later on beginning their trip to becoming the unforgettable Behemoths of Rock that they are now. The album does not leave the listener with a second to breathe with the stunning melodies of sweet child O' Mine to the rhythmic headbanging of My Michelle. Guns'n'roses truly staked their place in the classical albums with this magnificent album. You are immediately introduced to them with the astounding Welcome to the Jungle and are sitting on the edge of your chair until the very last whisper of rocket queen. Axl's reshaped Guns'N'Roses proved to be worth it as they would have never been a shadow of their former selves without Duff Mckagan...

Advantages: Great Rock Album With a Touch of Psyche Disadvantages: only a touch of psyche and space rock
...Funny how things turn out, I was initially going to slate this record as I was bitterly disappointed by it, but as I am listening to it I am slowly realising what a good album it is. Good but not as great as some of their previous releases, which is the reason for my disappointment.
There have been quite a few changes in Monster Magnet since 2001’s “God Says No”. First they have wrestled themselves free of Major Label hell and signed to an independent. The also have lost a Bass Player and a drummer on the way. However as the main creative force in the band is Dave Wyndorf (Vocals/ Guitar / Keyboards) this is not as big an impact as Queens of the Stone Age loosing Nick Oliveri.
Anyhow onto the record, this is not the psychedelic space rock behemoth of an album I wanted or expected but there are shades of that here on occasion...
