THE ALBUM
I can safely say I have no regrets in purchasing the Gorillaz new album, Demon Days. The original mix of tracks are new and upbeat, and a joy to listen to.
The title track, Demon Days, includes a rather surprising choir for most of the lyrics, and they also feature along side the lead singer, 2D (Damon Albarn) in track number five, Dirty Harry. 'All Alone' would be the most electro track on the album, and it does not fail to impress with it's gradual growing into a huge anthem for all to hear. It is swiftly followed by White light, the most punk rock kind of track on the CD. 'White light' is a must listen for all punk fans, as it's sure to set the pulse racing and make you want to have a good old rock out in the middle of your living room. :o) The track 'Kids with Guns' is full of thought provoking material. It is based on the philosophy that new governments and army's are leading up to loose our compassion for fellow man, hence the lyric 'They're turning us into monsters'.
The first single from the album to be released, 'Feel Good Inc.' marked to gradual build up to the more Gorillaz type hip-hop tunes, and told the listener that this was an album that was not set to disapoint. The upcoming single, DARE, is sure to leave it's fab tune and funky lyrics in your head for the rest of the day. A real treat for the ears!
'2D', 'Murdoc', 'Noodle' and 'Russel' did a fabulous job of guitar riffs and incorperating other performers into these new anthems, and I'm sure that this will stay in my collection for a long time to come! Bravo Gorillaz! *note: taken from normal Demon Day's review*

The DVD is actually quite hilarious, with the heads of the band members chattering on between themselves if you take your time, and the occasional whisper of '...Something's crawling up my leg...' from the lead singer, 2D (Damon Albarn). Not advised for the kids, however, as it does contain some strong language and suggestive content curtousy of the perverted bass player. (But it really is very entertaining)
THE FLIPPING COVERS AND DESIGN
The interchangeable covers are a treat for anyone with a fiddley nature, as you can spend as long as you like deciding which band member is your favourite, and flipping between the 'demonic' faces and normal faces of the band members. Quite entertaining (if you're like me that is).
The overall design is pretty much flawless, apart from having to wiggle the CD and DVD carefully into the plastic case, and then if you want to use either one, getting them both back out again. My advice is hold it with two fingers by the sides and shake like anything!
