Destination Anywhere, Mr Bon Jovi's first solo effort, is a great album. The tracks all sound like soundtrack from a film (which not surprisingly are, for budding actor Jon Bon Jovi's film titled - you guessed it - Destination Anywhere). Its sultry, dark and atmostpheric at all times complete with rain, traffic and police walkie talkie sound effects. JANIE DON'T YOU TAKE YOUR LOVE TO TOWN is a beautiful sing a long track as are all the tracks on this album and is one of the more uplifting tracks. The title track, DESTINATION ANYWHERE conjures the mood of the whole album, which is basically that Jon is going to save the girl and drive in his car...which is where this album is best heard. AUGUST 7 4.15 is a particulary hard hitting track about a hit and run...incidently Jon's managers daughter...and COLD CRUEL HEART also keeps this mood. However the dark mood at the end of the album is complimented with some of the other light tracks, LEARNING HOW TO FALL, EVERY WORD WAS A PIECE OF MY HEART. This album has a distinct sound which is carried throughout each song and it wouldn't be an understatement to say that it's very much like a movie in itself.
