Advantages: Quirky, likeable and original. A great collection of addictive tracks Disadvantages: Perhaps one too many genres thrown into the mix, unsettled and unusual.
Debut albums are often notable for their diverse, sometimes indecisive mix of styles and themes as the artists struggle to establish themselves and let the listener know what they're all about. This is certainly true of The Sleepy Jackson's first full-length album Lovers; although at times I got the impression that lead singer and commander of mayhem Luke Steele is simply taking us on a roller coaster ride of genres, styles and themes, just for the sheer hell of it.
Within the space of the first two songs you quickly realise that someone who can move seamlessly from the George Harrison-esque opener 'Good Dancers' with its winding, whining strings, floating female harmonies and sitar-laden backing, to the stomping glam-rock, Velvet Underground sounding 'Vampire Racecourse' is not going to be easy to categorize. And it would appear ...

production from Babyface, R Kelly, Rodney Jerkins, Teddy Riley and the unknown "Dr Freeze". It was released on 30th October 2001 to mixed reviews from critics and fans alike.
**The Album**
1.) Unbreakable
This starts off the album in a superb way with a full on stomper of a track which features a stupendous beat which is accompanied by the many hooks. It also features background vocals from Brandy and a rap sample from Notorious BIG. This is a great start to the album and is a preview of the way the first three tracks go.
2.) Heartbreaker
This is another uptempo stomper but though not quite as heavy as the opening track it still features a beat that thumps along and some funky hooks. Jackson's vocals start understated then he gradually gets louder as the song progresses. This track is about a relationship that has gone wrong that you ...
Advantages: Gentle comedy Disadvantages: A bit twee in parts
The Stone Of Destiny is the film account of the story of the rescue of the Stone Of Destiny. The stone, also known as the Stone of Scone, is symbolic as it was used to crown Scottish monarchs. It was stolen from Scone by Edward the first in 1296 and has been used in the coronation of British monarchs ever since. Many saw its location as a symbol of Scottish oppression and appealed for the stone to be brought home again but powers that be insisted that it stay put.
In 1950 Ian Hamilton (Charlie Cox), a law student at Glasgow University and Scottish Nationalist decided to go to London to claim the stone back. Obviously this presented a few problems, firstly the stone was fixed to the Coronation Chair within Westminster Abbey and obviously it is a huge heavy stone so is not easy to transport or hide. He couldn't carry out this feat ...

Album Notes
The Jacksons: Tito Jackson (vocals, guitar); Michael Jackson, Marlon Jackson, Jackie Jackson (vocals); Randy Jackson (percussion, background vocals). Additional personnel: Michael Sembello, Roland Bautista, Paul Jackson (guitar); Greg Phillinganes (keyboards); Nathan Watts, Gary King (bass); Rick Marotta (drums, percussion); Ricky Lawson, Ed Green (drums); Laudir DeOliveira, Claudio Slon, Paulinho Da Costa (percussion). Recorded at Cherokee Recording Studios, Total Experience, Helders/Flimways, Record Plant and Dawnbreakers, Los Angeles, California. After DESTINY'S opening thumping baseline, funky guitar chords, and Michael Jackson's hiccuping "heeee-heee-heeee," there's only one sensible thing to do--blame it on the boogie. Or blame it on the Jacksons' 1978 platinum-selling album for being so damn good. The tenor of the times was finally right for the band, and everyone involved is on top form. With songs all written and produced by the Jacksons, the emphasis is on booty-shaking music with heart and real soul. Within a year Michael Jackson's OFF THE WALL album, on the charts for 52 weeks, would make him a force to be reckoned with. But on DESTINY, Michael's passion and desire is palpable, giving the album its real power and edge. Besides "Blame it on the Boogie," DESTINY also features the disco-combustible "Shake Your Body (Down to the Ground)." Just about all the songs here are superlative, with standouts including Michael's delicately displayed anguish on the tender "Push Me Away," and the surprisingly poignant soul-searching "Destiny" which presciently foretells the situation the boys were soon to face as Michael's popularity soared.
