mistress Erykah Badu with the tough, edgy pop of TLC. Like other US R&B girl groups, their follow-up to 1998's self-titled debut comes with the suitable glossy sheen and hot, late 90s producer--in this case She'kspere, the dude behind TLC's summer of 99 hit "No Scrubs". His magical, minimalist touch makes tracks like "Bills Bills Bills" and "Bug A Boo" memorable for their insouciance, and deft, hardcore harmonies. Writer/producer Missy Elliot also puts in her several thousand dollars-worth on "Confessing", a low-key love groove. Though teenagers when they recorded this album, Destiny's Child sing convincingly of faithless lovers, e-mail stalkers, and extra-marital temptation, complete with cod-Shakespearean quotes. They also do a gospel version of "Amazing Grace", letting their voices buck and weave a cappella. Apart from a few less than enthralling ballads, it¹s an engaging, sassy mix. --Lucy O'Brien
Advantages: Great Songs , Great Voices Disadvantages: None!
...Destiny's Child were an American girl group consisting of Beyonce Knowles , Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams. They were an RnB/Pop group. The girls are from Houston , Texas , United States. The group "ran" from 1997-2005 however some of the original members left and were replaced in between that time. Beyonce and Kelly have remained original members. To date the girls have released seven albums ; Destiny's Child, The writings on The Wall , Survivor , 8 days of Christmas , Destiny Fulfilled , #1. My favourite Destiny's Child Album is the one I am reviewing ; Survivor , as it includes some of my favourite Destiny's Child Songs. Songs on the album which were released as singles were : Independent Women Part 1 , Survivor , Bootylicious , Emotion and Nasty Girl.
The cover consists of the three girls sitting facing the camera. Beyonce...

Advantages: good songs, cheap album to buy Disadvantages: some crap songs
...I bought survivor by destin'ychild about a month ago now. I'd heard some songs from them and really liked them, so thought I would buy the album to see what it is like.
I bought the album for £9.99 from Morrison's as i find cd's to be cheaper there than in any high street music store.
Survivor is Destinychild's thrid album. I have there other album called The writing on the wall and i have to say i do actually prefer that album to survivor. It is a good album though.

Advantages: Some good tracks Disadvantages: But some boring ones too
...Texan four piece Destiny's Child sold over 9 million copies of their last album The Writing's On The Wall, and now are the biggest girl band in the USA, the world even!
The title track 'Survivor' is amazing, a well deserved number one hit, and the idea came about after no less than THREE members have left the band in the last couple of years, and it's turning into the popular US show Survivor.
The tracks were all co produced and co written by the band, but is perhaps not as good as the last though. Apart from 'Survivor' and 'Independent Women', there are many songs with boring melodies and no real hook.
The highlights of the album are 'Bootylicious', 'Happy Face' and 'Nasty Girl', but it could have been a lot better....

Advantages: Up tempo songs are great dance songs Disadvantages: Low tempo songs, same old same old
...One of my favourite R&B albums when I was growing up was Destiny's child - writings on the wall. When I first heard 'Lose my breath' on the radio I thought it was cutting edge and fantastic. Every time I hear this song it still makes me want to go out clubbing. The record company definitely made the right decision when choosing to release this song to promote the album.
I went out and bought Destiny Fulfilled, thinking that the rest of the songs on it would be of similar standard to 'Lose my Breath'. However I was very disappointed when I first listened to the album to find that there were only a few up tempo tunes. Most of the album is familiar Destiny’sChild territory and excluding a few songs, the group don’t sound to have progressed since their temporary split.
Some examples of the less exciting songs on the album include 'Cater...
