All I Need to Please Me
Review of Diamonds Are Forever [Remastered] - Original Soundtrack by  dadmancat

Advantages: Remixed, Remastered and Extended
Disadvantages: Import only at present

...When 'Diamonds' first appeared as a soundtrack album it was a threadbare affair, rushed into release before John Barry had even completed the score. In their bid to capitalise on the pre-release frenzy of Connery's return to the 007 fold, the marketing bods at United Artists did Mr Barry a great disservice and we were landed with an album bereft of some great cues and themes. Instead, the original release largely featured background music composed for Bonds exploits in the Las Vegas Casinos. More than 30 years on, EMI Capitol are setting the record straight with a remixed, remastered and extended release of the 'Diamonds' score. What's more, much like the DVD release, we get deleted and unused cues too. The album runs to 21 tracks and to around 70 minutes, with every track getting the full treatment. While the track names remain... Read review

Who Will Buy My Yesterdays
Review of On Her Majesty's Secret Service [Remastered] - Original Soundtrack by  dadmancat

Advantages: Remixed, remastered, expanded with bonus tracks
Disadvantages: None at all

...Without doubt the best Bond soundtrack, if not the very best of John Barry's film scores. Now available on a 21 track plushly packaged CD that features practically every cue from the movie, and more besides. Remixed and remastered, sounding fantastic, it's probably been the most yearned for piece of Bond merchandise, and now it's here, and it doesn't disappoint. 1. We Have All the Time in the World. Composed by Barry, with vocals from jazz legend Louis Armstrong. Barry probably created the best Bond song with this wonderfully melodic and musically rich piece of work. A great tribute to Armstrong, whose last recorded work this is, and who passed away before OHMSS was released. All the trademark Barry elements are here, lush strings, smooth brass and some nice work on guitar which is brought very much to the attention thanks... Read review

Speak Miss B then Destroy
Review of Speak And Destroy - My Ruin by  Luna_star

Advantages: Quality meaningful tracks.
Disadvantages: None for me..........

...that she can still ve vulnerable despite her anthems of power on other tracks. 14) Af if almost getting up from the pain of the last track and fighting back, Tairre makes this performanc of 'Bright Red Scream' brutal and killer. One to be feared. Distict guitar effects and devilish lyrics from Tairrie make this song very enjoyable. 15) Cosmetic is heavy on bass once again has messages like "beauty is only skin deep" This topic is revisited in the next album with her song Beauty Fiend. 16) I love the way this opens, have a listen and see for yourself! This song is about all the fakes that surround us in every day life. It sparked controversy as it was claimed it was homophobic. This is plain rubbish. If you listen carefully, the message behind the song is very positive, be who you are, do not try and change for anyone, any group. Your... Read review
