Album Notes: First album in more than a decade from veteran punk rocker who found fame in the 70s with Generation X and went on to become one of America's biggest rock stars in the 80s. Now signed to the massive Sanctuary Records, his new album is full of unabashed melodic hard rock, harking back to the cock rock sound of Motley Crue, Poison and Idol's own 80s output. Includes the single 'Scream'.

...Pop punk may now be a genre of over-heated political naff-ness to be honest, but back in the 80's it was a different story. One of the members of the pop punk movement of the 80's (and early 90's) was BillyIdol. In 2001 this album was put together before his return.

Advantages: Some decent power-pop tunes Disadvantages: No new and original material
...repeated. While Green Day look like the old hands because they've been around long enough to have a Greatest Hits album, no-one really thinks about how punk-pop got started. Even if they did, I'm sure most of today's Good Charlotte fans would look at me as if I were mad should I tell them that the sound their idols play first came out of New York in 1983, in the hands of a man from Sussex.
Unlike a lot of today's acts who see power pop as a way to makes sales, BillyIdol wasn't just out for a quick buck. Having been a fan of the Sex Pistols, he was in a punk band, Generation X, who had a few hits in the 1970s. Unfortunately, his love of 1960s pop music meant he didn't fit in so well and so when the band split, he moved to New York and found a way to combine his punk music past with a love rock 'n' roll and see what happened. ...here Iam sporting my BillyIdol hairdo or is it Dexters from The Offspring, writing about the most brilliant man in punk/new wave.
I've always loved the blonde spikey hair look and by accident the other day I went back to my youth just by the hairdresser slipping up.
it reminded me so much of BillyIdol that i decided to get my C.D out,BillyIdol songs.
There are 11 of them and not one is rubbish.
