...After Sean Connery quit the role of James Bond, we saw George Lazenby give a performance as the agent in On Her Majesty's Secret Service that was true to Fleming's literary character: hard hitting and vulnerable, with a bit of a mean streak. While this was good to see from a die hard fan's point of view, it proved less entertaining, and for the next Bond film in 1971, Diamonds Are Forever, Mr. Charisma Sean Connery came back for one more film before passing the mantle over to Roger Moore. Advantages: Most tracks are exceptional, varied tracks and singing, enjoyable for everyone
Disadvantages: one weak track

...song was about a woman who was perfect in bed, but was a very unattractive lady once "the bedroom lights were on". On closer listening, however, the listener realises that the track is really about the 'Pop Idol' phenomenon. A very good looking lady, going on stage - crumbles ones she is in the spot light and is not so perfect after all. From that perspective, the lyrics are very clever and very topical. "Dirty Diamonds" starts with a slow melodical intro, then goes into a glam-trash/ punky kind of melody, involving a load of keyboards and drums. Alice's voice goes back to a more speaking/ shouting nature, far from the singing on the previous track. It is not one of the best tracks on the album, which is sad, considering that on the Australian leg of Alice's 'Dirty Diamonds' tour, this was actually only one of two tracks of the new album... ...Well I have finally reached the last official Sean Connery Bond film and after the slighly off key On Her Majesties Secret Service it is back to the usual with this Bond outting. The packaging as usual is the black on gold but as you look at it on your shelf, the title is not as bold as some of the others. This film starts off with Bond looking for Blofeld and seeing as he killed Mrs Bond in the previous film, Connery beautifully portray's Bond with a bit of a vengeful streak. Having 'killed' off Blofeld in the mud bath, it would appear that his mission is over. Upon getting back to London, bond is tasked by M to try and track down some diamonds that are being smuggled out of South Africa.
