...the inspiration for Hermann Loves Pauline, featuring possibly the only rapping with a Welsh accent I can think of. This deserves a special award in the insanity stakes – what on earth is it about?! Einstein? Marie Curie (who was ‘Polish born but French bred…FRENCH BREAD!’)? The shy kids at school? I honestly have no idea, but it is simply brilliant! If I could marry it I certainly would. Chupacabras is perhaps equally mad, but there’s no question of what this one is about. Advantages: Superb Spanish ska
Disadvantages: I prefer their album, El Vals Del Obrero

...I first came across Ska-P when I saw them live at the San Fermin Bull-running festival in Pamplona in 1997. Their energetic performance was one of the highlights of the festival and so I went and bought their first 2 albums, Ska-P & El Vals Del Obrero. At that time I didn't speak a word of Spanish and didn't have much idea about Spanish life and culture. However, through listening to their music I started to pick up some Spanish and it also gave me an insight into Spanish culture. QUE CORRA LA VOZ is their 4th album and in my opinion it is their 2nd best behind EL VALS DEL OBRERO. Stand out tracks are CONSUMO GUSTO which is about the perils of this consumer society that we live in, McDOLLAR which is about a certain fast food chain and INSENSIBILIDAD which is about neglected pets bought as presents for christmas. ......Introduction... I first heard of India Arie when I saw her on Later With Jools Holland when she released this album in 2001. She was born India Arie Simpson on October 3, 1975 in Denver Colorado, her father Ralph Simpson was an NBA Player and her mother Joyce was a former singer herself. India started having an interest in music at an early age and she pretty soon started learning to play various instruments. Though She is most well known for playing the guitar. She was discovered by a motown executive in 1999 and two years later released her debut album Acoustic Soul. ...India's voice... She has a great voice that has a substantial range allowing her to sing some great tender moments and then errupt in a fantastic almost gospel like chant.
