When Pulp had the string of hits a few years back including Disco 2000, and Common People, it took a while to talk myself into buying the album, Different Class. However, once bought I never looked back, as it is a true gem!
The album is slightly short with 12 tracks, and includes obviously the above 2 hits, and also Sorted For E's & Whizz, and Something Changed. But I've found that other unknown songs are actually as good if not better than the singles they released!
My favourtie song from the album is Underwear which has excellent lyrics and a superb melody which incorporates lots of emotion. Mis-Shapes is also another songs that I love and the way Jarvis brings the song from a low ebb upto a high and then slopes it back off for the finish is genius.
The album overall is one of pure genius, and it's a shame that more wasn't made of it in 95, as it should of won awards for any number of things! If you ever liked Pulp or even one of there songs then you will enjoy this album

I agree with your last comment. Its Pulp's most enjoyable album but I'd have appreciated a bit more decription from you on why *you* think it is, and those people who don't know Pulp would probably like more description of the type of music - I mean it could be a rap or croony ballads, or dance music, its not clear here.

A solid opinion but lacks contrast with other similar works etc. Timmy.

Advantages: The album that defines Brit Pop, with a huge stream of heavy hitting tracks and divine lyrics Disadvantages: Leaves you with that hungry feeling of wanting more! (cured with deluxe purchase!)
Advantages: Sex, drugs, and common people! Brilliant, catchy, important lyrics Disadvantages: some songs take a little getting used to; Can't I give it more than 5 Stars?
