Normally this section paragraph is where I write some witty (hopefully) mood setting babble, but this time, luckily for all of you review readers out there, there is no mood to set. So let's just get on with it, I am going to be reviewing Village East, it is where Snarf and I go when we can't be bothered to cook, or just want a quick drink, it is our closest drinking hole.
Where is Village East?
Village East is located on the fashionable Bermondsey Street, which is a very short walk from London Bridge Underground & Mainline station & about 5 mins from my front door. I have attached a map to help you all out.
Why Should I go?

A month or so after September 11th, I went into the photo lab to pick up some prints I had taken a while to develop. The girl in the shop retrieved them, and then looked at me and said "Oh, we were looking at these, they're amazing." I had no idea what she was talking about (and frankly was disturbed to find they do indeed snoop at your photos!) . Well, I opened them and immediately knew. There were some photos I had taken during my last weeks in NY, the previous spring. I decided one beautiful sunny day in May to walk across the Brooklyn Bridge, as I had never done so before. It was one of those touristy things that, living in NY, many people take for granted.

I picked up Love Etc (Julian Barnes) at a local library as they were having a book sale of withdrawn books. I have to admit to liking the cover and choosing this book purely on that basis. Love Etc is the sequel to an earlier novel ?Talking It Over?, which I have not read, but this has not had an impact on the enjoyment of this novel, and may even had improved on the story. I am not a lover of sequels unless I am aware that I am reading the first book of a trilogy, etc.
Love Etc was first published in 2000. The writing style is unusual, and took me a while to get into the different characters. It reminds me of the film ?When Harry Met Sally? in the way the main characters take it in turns to talk to me, the reader. So, for instance, page one is Stuart talking to me.
