This is a great mix of the best songs which are all in the film and my personal favourite is She's Like the Wind as it is actually Patrick Swayze singing it. I was very surprised when I found this out as I had no idea he had such a good voice and the words are also very good and meaningful.
The whole CD features a wide mix of songs with ballads and faster dance music all combined. None of the tracks seem out of place or sound like they should not be on here and when every I listen to the CD (not in the car anymore as Hubby has banned it!) I cannot help but remembering the parts of the film where the songs are.
I do admit that I have not heard of half of the artists but I do instantly recognise the songs and I am glad that this CD is available as I would not have a clue what CD's to look for to buy the songs I like. Each and every track does make have me and my little man dancing in the kitchen, he even dances to the slow songs, swaying from side to side and has me in hysterics with his funky dance moves.
The CD was produced by Song BMG originally in 1987 but the copy which I have was re-produced in 2008 and comes with a pink cardboard sleeve as it is being re-sold and all profits are going towards Breast Cancer Care which I think is a wonderful idea as I am helping them to raise money at the same time as enjoying myself.
I paid £5 for my CD from Woolworths which is a great price but I would have paid a few pounds more if they would have been asking as the money is going to this good cause.

Advantages: Great calming music Disadvantages: Not as good as watching the movie.
...I never tire of it. Dirty Dancing is one of the all time best movies and the soundtrack is what helps make the film. The songs include 'time of my life' and 'hungry eyes' the original version of 'hey baby' is also included which was re-released not so long ago by Dj Otzi. This is definitely a chick flick soundtrack or could be equally as good for you guys that are in touch with your feminine side and enjoy abit of soft ballad type music. If you love ... ...purchase the sound track, everyone I know who has it, absolutely loves it!! It contains 18 songs with a total running time of 1 hour 36 minutes. This can be purchased more or less any where that sells music, or it could be downloaded off of the interent. Its a must have its fan-tabby-tastic :) ...

WOW! I love the film, and this soundtrack is absolutely amazing as well. Throughout the soundtrack I just want to get up and dance - and sometimes I do... LOL.
It's the whole standing in front of a mirror with the hairbrush CD. If you're a big fan of the film like me, then this is the perfect CD as you know all of the words off by heart without even realising it!

The summer of 1987 was a memorable one for me, why? Well simply the discovery of one of my favourite films ever, DirtyDancing, any teenage girl at that time probably spent their time smooching over Patrick Swayze all the while envying Jennifer Grey.
The place where I spent most of my early teenage years was Dumbarton and nothing exciting ever happened, so when DirtyDancing hit the one and only cinema screen at the Rialto, boy was it big news, myself and my best friend at that time went every single night for the whole two weeks it showed for, I knew every line, every move, every touch and lived the scenes with Baby (Jennifer Grey), sad I know but that’s adolescence for you.
The originalsoundtrack from the movie came out in two parts, DirtyDancing came first of all selling over a million copies within the first five weeks ...
