...fashioned strumming. You have Frankie Stubbs low North Eastern growl, Davey Burdens melodic bass lines and Andrew Langs wonderfully precise sharp drumming. This combines with superb songwriting, melodies and lyrics that at times makes The Smiths sound cheerful makes for a truly unique band.
This album "Dog Disco" is their 3.5th album (1) on the BYO (Better Youth Organization) Label and their first since the superb "Horsebox" realeased in 2000. The line up is now down to the core three piece of Frankie Stubbs (Guitar and Vocals), Davey Burdon (Bass and Vocal) and Andrew Laing (Drums and Vocal), and it is classic Leatherface from the opening track "Hoodlum" with their trademark guitar picking and powerful melodies, though at this point I do realise that they are really missing a second guitarist. ...INTRODUCTION
Well, I had to write a review on the band i can't stop listening to and am at the moment. I purchased the album saturday last in Woolworth's so was lucky after a good search. This particular band are from America. I first came across them on myspace music. After a listen to some of their tracks on their i couldn't wait to get the album. Panic at the disco's a fever you can't sweat out is so Easy to listen to and catchy.
They are from Las Vegas Nevada. When you listen to the album this does show. In one word a cabaret type feel to many of the tracks. You can certainly imagine them playing in a glitzy vegas hotel. You wouldn't think this for an any indie band but let me explain.

...I would recommend this to anyone, young people and older people. Anyone who likes 70's music. The variety of music on this CD is much more than any other disco CD I have seen. This is the type of CD that you can put on in your car while driving to work and it will cheer up your day or get you in the mood for a party. The album is full of oldies but goodies, that make you want to sing and dance. Ofcourse it holds all of the 70's classics like The Jacksons, Earth Wind and Fire and Candi Staton, which you find on all other 70's and disco cd's but 101 Disco Anthems has so much more "Hustle" to offer!...
