I've been a huge fan of Loose Women for about two years, and now it is the main thing in my present and indeed my future. Over the years I've learned so much about the panel and particularly about Coleen Nolan. It was she who got me listening to the Nolans music, which I have fallen in love with since. I've bought a ticket to go and see them live at Hammersmith Apollo later this year and in an attempt to clue myself up with their music a bit more I went on a search for their albums. In the end I bought three albums which meant I owned every song ever released by the Sisters, and one of these is Disco Party Classics.
To look at, the album cover is very attactive. The main colour is pink, with 'The Nolans' written in a thin gold font. Underneath there is a picture of four of the Nolan sisters: Linda, Coleen, Maureen and Bernie. They look so happy, smiling out at you. You can't help but smile back.
The CD itself has a total of eighteen wonderful hits, giving you about an hour of entertainment. I wont go into detail about all of the tracks, as I'd like to leave some of its wonders as a surpise for when you buy the CD (as I'd highly recommend you do!), but I shall mention a few of my personal favourites.
One track I adore is the first track on the CD, 'Im in the mood for dancing'. This is the song the Nolans are best known for, and one you can find on all of their albums. It is such an upbeat track which is certain to put a smile on your face, and likely to be the soundtrack of my life! You'll hear it at every party and disco you'll ever go to, and there's no surprises - it's simply the best! Lyrics: "I'm in the mood for dancing, romancing, I've giving it all tonight!"
A second song I love is 'Attention to me', which is track six. I originally fell in love with this song when I heard it on youtube. Unfortunately the version online was not of good quality, so I was thrilled when I found it was on this CD. It's quite a gentle song, but still has a strong tempo to it. It's underrated for sure - nobody I know seem to have heard of it, yet it is one of my all-time favourites! Lyrics: "Scream and shout like a witch voodoo, give a little dance, give a little bit of attention to me!"
'Spirit, Body and Soul' is a wonderful song, which is track sixteen on the album. It is definitely one of the more mellow songs from the Nolans, but it is not at all dull. It really relaxes you and has you slowly tapping your feet up and down. It's definitely another favourite of mine, and is thankfully on a few of their albums. Lyrics: "Your love's unforgettable, darling so unusual. Yes your love, is sensational!"
IThis is probably one of my most treasured albums in my collection. It definitely has, for me, some of the greatest hits of all time. It was definitely worth it in terms of value too. I paid £5 for this at HMV.com, and the price is similar on both Amazon.co.uk and Play.com. It really does surprise me that it is not priced at around £10, as I feel it would definitely be worth it! Nonetheless I cannot complain - it's a real bargain!
I adore the Nolans, and I adore this CD! It, along with my other two, has really helped me get to grips with the Nolans' style of music and I have fallen head over heels in love with it. It is definitely well worth the money and is a must have for any Nolan fan!
