Dock Of The Bay, The (The Definitive Collection) - Otis Redding

...'s realized his power and is, well, OK with it. Steve Cropper, Booker T and the MG's guitarist, was a regular writing partner, as well as playing on most of the tracks. How about these 3 Redding/Cropper songs: # "Mr Pitiful" - I can't remember whether this song features in the Blues Brothers or The Commitments movie, (it's probably in both) but this was exactly the 'feel' they were trying to achieve. But of course, Otis does it best. # "Fa fa fa fa fa (sad song)" - It's hard for me to see this as a sad song, as it feels quite uplifting, and is even a a bit of a singalong song, with Otis prompting "Our turn…" and "Your turn…" # "(Sittin' on) the dock of the bay" - the posthumous hit, and this was the first Otis Redding song I ever heard. One of his best songs, a gentle song that somehow makes your emotions swell. It's about loneliness... Read review

...There are a lot of CDs of great music by The Man, but if you want an overview of the type of stuff he sang other than "Dock of the Bay" - then this CD is for you! This music was released in 1968 as an album and I later bought the CD for the little-known track "You Made a Man Out of Me", but found that I enjoyed the ten other tracks as well, including the laid back "I've Got Dreams to Remember" and "A Fool for You". The accompanying booklet says that the selections contained on this album were never released prior to 1968 (with the exception of "The Happy Song"). They were recorded during the spring, summer and fall of 1967 and comprise some of the last recordings made by Otis Redding.... Read review

But his character develops Arnold J Rimmer. (Chris Barrie) Arnie is the most cowardly, back stabbing, regimented, and pathetic life form to ever call itself human. But Arnie, or big man to his friends, has the biggest transformation of them all because he ends up becoming Ace Rimmer the multiverses greatest hero, what a guy! Cat. (Danny John-Jules) The offspring of an idiot and a cripple, he is the most vain creature in all of the multiverses. His character never really changes. Dwayne Dibbley.
