The Game is a westcoast rapper who WAS signed to rap group G-UNIT buy the leader 50Cent who helped him out a lot with this album buy writting most of the songs for The Game. Game is has now left G-Unit after him and 50Cent fell out and now Game instead of shouting G-UNIT, he now says G-UNOT, which is him basiclly taking shots at is former record label. This makes it difficult for me to review this album and although i am a big fan of G-Unit i am also into The Game. This album will probably be the best album of Game's career because not only has he had the help of 50Cent but legend DR.Dre is involved in the making of some of the tunes. Rapper Kanye West helps out buy producing the hit single "DREAMS" and even the top rapper Eminem produces a tune and raps in it aswell, so even before you listen to it you kind of allready know that its gonna be good if you like hip-hop. The album also has appearances from Mary.J.Blidge,Nate Dogg,Busta Rhymes,Tony Yayo,Faith Evans and Marsha of Floetry, as i allready said The Game has had more than a little help on his debut album! It also includes hit singles "HOW WE DO" feat 50Cent ,"HIGHER", "WESTSIDE STORY" and "DREAMS".

Track1 INTRO: Produced by Dr.Dre and One Vicious. Recored by Mauricio Vento Iraggori at Record One. Assisted by Rouble Kapoor. Keyboards by Mike Elizonio and Mark Batson. Guitar by Wayee Kee. Bass by Mike Elizonio. Contains elements of "DOWE INTO THE MAGIC"(Donald Kerr) Ricday music.
~ A simple intro to start the album off and it has a guy saying it's time to play the game! with a slow ballad with a light beat in the background. it only last for about 15 seconds before kicking into the opening tune.
Track2 WESTSIDE STORY featuring 50Cent: Produced by Dr Dre and Scott Stortch. Musicians Scott Stortch and Mike Elizondo. Recorded by Mauricio Iragoori at Cam-Am studios.Assisted by Jose Borges and Rouble Kapoor. Mixed by Dr Dre. Mix engineer Mauricio Iragoori.
~ A good way to start of an album with high expectations. This one of a few tunes that features 50Cent who does a really good chorus, with a jumpy gangster beat and a couple of notes from a piano witch gives it the West coast feel. Game flows really well and has good voice for gangster rapping, although he did not write this tune he still comes across well as he raps about all the different gangs across America and about lots of shootings. It clearly has Dr Dre's influence in the beat which does make it a great
tune.
Track3 DREAMS:Produced by Kanye West for Konman productions/ hip-hop since 1978. Recorded by Kent Huffnagle,Joe Warlick, Steve B, Baughman and Mauricio at Enterprise studios, Larrabee Studios,Encore studios, and Record One. Assisted by Rouble Kapoor. Mixed by Dr Dre mix engineer, Mauricio Iragorri. Musicians Keenan Holloway(bass) Glenn Jeffries (guitar), Ervin Pope(keys)
~ A very moving tune with which is influenced by rapper Kanye West. This is a story about how Game used to be a regular guy until he was involved in a shooting a was put in a coma for a few months, when he eventually awoke he was a new man and his passion for rap music was taken to another level as he studied many classic rap albums and then became a rapper. A very clever tune with some interesting lyrics.
Track4 HATE IT OR LOVE IT featuring 50 Cent:Produced by Cool and Dre. Recorded by Robert Brisbane at Record Room, Miami,FL,G-Unit studios, CT. Mixed by Dr Dre mix engineer, Mauricio Iragorri. Musicians Dave Cabrera, Cool and Mike Elizonio(Bass)
~ The hit single featuring 50Cent who wrote the whole tune and has rap at his best with an amazing chorus which also has Game claiming he is raps MVP(Most Valuable Player) Game does spit well and this is mor about how Game signed up with G-unit, a fantastic piece of music which has a ctachy beat with chello sounds to it. also there are many remixes to this one.
Track5 HIGHER: Produced by Dr Dre and Mark Batson. Recorded by Mauricio Iragoori, Adam Hawkins at Record One. Assisted by Scott Gutierrez and Rouble Kapoor. Mixed by Dr Dre mix enginerr Mauricio Iragoori. Musicians Mark Batson and Mike Elizonio. Additional vocals by Natasha Mathis.
~My personal faveourite, I doubt that Game will ever make a better tune than this in his career. Dr Dre has done given Game a classic beat as Game writes about G-unit and Dre's record label Aftermath. Its a party tune with a banging beat and that west coast piano feel that adds a lot of heat.
Track6 HOW WE DO featuring 50 Cent : Produced by Dr Dre and Mike Elizonio. Recorded by Mauricio Iragorri and Adam Hawkins at Can-Am, Tarzana and Record One. Assisted by Jose Borges and Rouble Kapoor. Mixed by Dr.Dre ,mix enginer Mauricio Iragorri. Musicians Mike Elizonio and Scott Storch.
~ Another hit single courtesy of 50Cent. 50 and Game work well together on this one explaining their hip-hop lifestyles and how they get down. Its a cool beat with the hands clapping to it and 50 cent with a fine chorus tops of a classic and proves these two can make hit records.
Track7 DONT NEED YOUR LOVE featuring Faith Evans:Produced by Havoc. Additional production by Dr Dre. Recorded by Robert Hannon and Mauricio Iragorri at Record One Studios.Assisted by Rouble Kapoor. Mixed by Dr Dre, mix engineer Mauricio Iragorri. Musicions Mike Elizonio(bass)
~ After a great start to the album this is a really chilled out tune and actually is quite effective with Game rapping more about the hood and Faith Evans single beautifully in the chorus, a bit depressing but still a decent tune with a slow beat an a sqeeky voice oohing and aahing in the backround puts a sentamental feel to it.
Track8 CHRCH FOR THUGS: Produced by Just Blaze for F.O.B entertainment. Recorded by Ryan West for N.Q.C management at Baseline recording studios. Assisted by David Brown and Scott Gutierrez for N.Q.C Entertainment. Mixed by Justin Smith and Ryan West for N.Q.C managemnet at Record One studios.
~ A jumpy tune with a hard beat and some clever lyrics as Game contiues his stories about the hood. The chorus is good as Game raps with a tune( similar to what 50 Cent does in some of his tunes) and does it really well with his deep voice and great delivary.
Track9 PUT YOU ON THE GAME :Produced by Timbaland for Timbaland productions. Co-producted by Nate Hills for Danja Hands Productions and Hot Janks Eet. Recorded by Demacio Castellon for Storm Circle Inc. at Hit Factory Criteria. Assisted by Marcella Aracia for Storm Circle Inc. Mixed by Timbaland and Jimmy Douglas at Hit Factory Criterea. Additional vocals by Timbaland. Timbaland appears courtesy of Blackground Records.
~ A hit single on the streets this tune was and it is one of the best on the album for me. It has hard beat with an angry vibe to it. Game raps more about G-unit and Dr Dre and how gangster they all are. It has more aahing ion the backround but more of a synth twang to it this time that produces a fantastic rap.
Track10 START FROM SCRATCH featuring Marsha Of Floetry: Produced by Dr Dre and Scott Storch. Recorded by Steve Baughman and music/TVT music/ Tuff Jew Productions, Mauricio Iragoori at Can-AM, Tarazana. Assisted Jose Borges and Rouble Kapoor. Mixed by Dr Dre, Mix engineer Mauricio Iragoori. Musicians Scott Storch.
~ The Game rapped to this tune after consuming a lot of henesy apparently which makes his voice a bit mor husky and sounds really chilling. Its a very deep beat with the bass playing very low. Marsha Of Floetry gives it an R&B chorus which is ok, but game does well tp pull this one off.
Track11 THE DOCUMENTARY : Produced by Jeff Bhasker for Skyblaze music. Co-produced by Jeff Reed. Recorded by Jeff Reed at Enourmous Studios and Mauricio Iragorri. Mixed by Dr Dre. Mix engineer Mauricio Iragorri. Musicians Jeff Bhasker(all instruments)
~ This is full off adrenaline and heat with game rapping about the darkest places in the darkest hoods and also more about when he was in a coma. An excellent tune and even Dre steps in to say the odd word or two, really gangster and i find myself nodding my head to it.
Track12 RUNNIN' featuring Tony Yayo: Produced bu Hi-Tek for Hi-Tek Productions at Teklab Studios and Larrabee sound studios (north) and Steve Baughman at Can-Am. Assisted by Michael Dobmeier. Mixed by: Dr Dre. Mix engineer Mauricio Iragoori. Additional vocals Dion Jenkins.
~ G-Unit member Tony Yayo makes an appearance here and does quit well, its another very slow tune and a bit depressing, no one of my faves. Game raps about death but i wouldnt say it was really chilling, just depressing, Tony Yayo liveins it up slightly with his raw voice and lyrics.
Track13 NO MORE FUN AND GAMES: Produced ny Just Blaze for F.O.B Entertainment/N.Q.C management. Recorded by Ryan West for N.Q.C management at Baseline Recording Studios. Assisted by David Brown for N.Q.C management. Mixed by Ken Lewis for N.Q.C management at Baseline Recording Studios.
~ Im not sure if Game wrote this or not to be honest i think he did most of this one and really goes for it, as he talks hmself up claiming that he is allready a legend. A bit over confident in my opinon, but i suppose at the time he was signed to G-Unit and he had every right to be confident. A clever ryhme that has a great beat.
Track14 WE AINT featuring Eminem: Produced by Eminem. Co-Produced by Luis Resto. Recorded by Steve King, Mike Strange and Tony Campana at 54 Sound, Detroit. Mixed by Eminem and Steve King at 54 sound. Musicians Luis Resto(keys) Steve King (guitar and bass).
~ This what i was waiting for... a sheer classic. This is the best tune on the album by a country mile. Unfortunatly the credit goes to legend Eminem as he produced the tune and wrote it. He does the chorus and has the best verse on the album. But Game does well and in his second verse he does mention that Eminem raps far better than him as he raps about calling up Dre to tell him he just out rapped him on his own album. It has an excellent beat with more synth type sopunds. I suggest this tune be played at very VERY high volumes! a quality hip-hop classic which i cannot rate highly enough.
Track15 WHERE I'M FROM featuring Nate Dogg: Produced by Focus for A-Foc Aliptic Music Works/Afternath Ent. Recorded by Jason Schweitzer, Kevin Davis, Oscar Ramirez, and Mauricio Iragoori at Lirrabee Studios, Encore Studios and Record One Studios. Assisted by Jose Borges. Mixed by Dr Dre and Steve Baughman. Mix engineer Steve Baughman. Musicians Focus(all instruments) and Tank(scratching).
~ After just listening to an absolute banger this is definatly...not. Nate Dogg sings a good chorus but there is nothing really to this tune. Its slightly boring and Game doeasnt really say anything he hasnt said allready. Its not the worst song i have ever heard but its not one id be really wanting to play over and over like the last tune.
Track16 SPECIAL featuring Nate Dogg: Produced by Needlz. Recorded by Mauricio Iragoori at Record One Studios and KY Miller at 50 House. Assisted by Rouble Kapoor. Mixed by Dr Dre, Mix engineer Mauricio Iragoori. Musicians Mike Elizondo(guitar).
~ Another one with Nate Dogg as this album has suddenly just totally come to a chill out stage. Nate Dogg does sing well but its not really the type of tune you want from a rapper like Game. Its another depressing one with light guitars but a decent beat. Again its not a bad tune but its not one that stands out for me.
Track17 DONT WORRY featuring Mary J. Blige: Produced by Dr Dre and Mike Eliaondo. Recorded by Mauricio Iragoori at Record One. Assisted by Jose Borges and Rouble Kapoor. Mixed by Dr Dre. Mix engineer Mauricio Iragoori. Musicians Mike Elizondo(guitar and keyboard), Lional Holoman(keyboard)
~ With two tracks remaining your really looking for something to compete with the earlier tunes on this album. If you thought it couldnt get any slower...then your wrong...this really is a slow jam with Mary J. Blidge's soft sweet voice which is nice but not for this type of album. She goes on and then the music still stays slow but slightly chilling pianos start to play as Game starts to rap, he has 3 small verses as he raps more about girls and the hood. This is a tune you could fall asleep to and maybe other people would like it but its not for me. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Track18 LIKE FATHER LIKE SON featuring Busta Rhymes: Produced by Buckwild for Kurrup Money Entertainment. Recorded by Ed scratch, Ryan West and Steve Baughman at The Stash House and Baseline Studios.Assitsed by Michael Dobmeier. Mixed by Dr Dre. Mix engineer Mauricio Iragoori.
~ The album ends unfortunatly with another depressing tune with low violins in the backround with another slow beat. Games rap is actually good in this one as he talks more about his life. An appearance from famous rapper Busta Ryhmes aswell but he only does the chorus which is ok. I think it would be better if he had a verse it would make the tune a lot better. Not bad.
The Game-The Documentary Well to sum it up it started off really well and there are a few classic hip-hop beats in there but as the album went on and actually after the best tune (WE AINT feat.Eminem) it kind of just died and it was a dissapointing end to a good album. The Game has sold well on this album but he had so much help from others that he really could not fail on this one. Unfortunatly The Game is longer part of G-Unit as he fell out with 50Cent and they have had rap battles which Game has lost, and also the influence of Dr Dre is rare these days. It does prove that without all these people The Game would not have had such a succsesfull album and that was also proven as his second album has not sold that well and it is not as good as The Documentary. The Game now goes around shouting G-Unot instead of G-Unit but this only makes 50Cent and co rap about him and slag him all the time. Despite all of this i would still recomend this particular album to most hip-hop fans as it does show some class due to the people helping The Game, and it produces one or two real classics.

Mindouggaz- It mind souns stupid to you but unfortunatly its a fact. 50 Cent and The Gmae both stated live on radio and television that 50 Cent wrote MOST of The Documentry.
But no 50 Cent did NOT write any of Doctor's Advocate and was not involved in anyway on this album or Game's 3rd album because we chucked Game out of G-Unit after his 1stalb

"The Game didnt really write this album it was mostly 50 Cent", this is the most stupid thing that i have ever heard, so maybe doctor's advocate also wrote 50 cent?
