Dogg Pound Flava For Tha Nine-Fever

Advantages: Strong throughout
Disadvantages: Underrated

"Dogg Food" came as the debut album, from Tha Dogg Pound in 1995. The Dogg Pound Gangstas (DPG) are a West Coast rap duo, consisting of members Kurupt, and Snoop Dogg's cousin, Daz. The pair had been hyped by performing alongside Snoop, Dr. Dre and other West Coast Gansta Rap acts, and had lent their production to tracks by some of these artists too. This album would be considered one of the main albums invovlved within the East Coast-West Coast beef of the mid-nineties as the duo directly call out New York rappers with their rhymes. 1. "Intro" 2. "Dogg Pound Gangstaz" After the intro, DPG give another track to show who they are and what they are all about. In comparison to the rest of the tracks, I thought that it wasn't really as strong as them. I think that this is down to the beats in it as Daz goes for beats which sound ...

Tha Top Dogg Has No Limits

Advantages: Consistent quality
Disadvantages: No big single

"No Limit Top Dogg" is the fourth album by the West Coast rapper, Snoop Dogg. This one is his second to be released whilst signed to Master P's record label, No Limit. This is where the idea for the album's title comes from as he heads this group, which also had Mystikal, C-Murder and Sillk the Shocker signed up too. These all make appearances through this release at some point, just as on "Da Game Is to Be Sold, Not to Be Told". 1. "Dolomite" (Intro) 2. "Buck 'Em" (feat. Sticky Fingaz) On this one, Tha Top Dogg collaborates with Onyx's Sticky Fingaz, they perform on a bassy, laid-back tune which gets you swaying, and once the lyrics come into effect, this just continues the the way the music has influence on how you are forced to physically react. It is a strong way to get things started on this, his fourth solo album ...

Review of No Limit Top Dogg - Snoop Doggy Dogg

Death Row Brings Tha Dogg Bacc

Advantages: Previously-unreleased material
Disadvantages: Lacks the energy of most of his albums

"Dead Man Walkin'" was the 2000 release from the Long Beach California-rasied rapper, Snoop Dogg. Due to the fact that Snoop had been signed to No Limit at the time of publication was significant, as this is a compilation of unreleased tracks from Snop whilst on the Dead Row record label, without the artists permission. All the tracks were recorded between 1993 and 1998, so it is highly varied in style and quality. 1. "May I" This is a massively strong way to get things goign as you have a piece of quality material from Snoop getting things going, showing that he had a lot more potentinal in him than what was released in "Doggystyle", and "Tha Doggfather", not that they weren't great records from him. **Four Stars** 2. "C-Walkin'" Snoop gets his Crip Walk on with this one, showing that even Gs need to boogie, even if its ...
