Advantages: Some easy listening music Disadvantages: Dull, disappointing
...This album is the London Philharmonic Orchestra playing the music of Pink Floyd, featuring instrumental versions of tracks from The Wall & Dark Side of the Moon. I bought this being a big fan of Pink Floyd, but was disappointed with it. Although some of the pieces work well, overall it is rather dull & the tracks loose a lot of their impact without the original & imaginative lyrics. Although the haunting melodies still sound nice enough, I personally think this album is a waste of money & would recommend that any fans of Pink Floyd stick with buying the original albums....

Advantages: Brilliant lyrics, talented music, unique style Disadvantages: Only for SOAD fans- others may not find it to their taste
...My personal favourite of the System of a Down albums, Toxicity contains a brilliant blend of songs in their own unique and inimitable style. From the beginning 'Prison Song' right through to the haunting 'Ariels', you are taken on a ride you won't forget- each song is different with its own intelligent and meaningful lyrics, and unforgettable melodies. My personal favourite songs on here are Chop Suey, Forest, and Toxicity. They're not all the kind of songs that go through your head for weeks after listening to them, but they are all their own truly memorable experience, and fans of System of a Down will love this album.
If you're not a fan of SOAD, you may not enjoy it, but if you were going to try them out with an album, this would be the album to choose. People who don't like rock music would probably not get along with the style...

Advantages: It has the lot! Disadvantages: Not a single one
...This album is a tour de force, the culmination of the 5 previous albums, the creative and artistic azimuth of Percy and Pagey.
This magnum opus reveals a pellucid quality in tracks such as Ten Years Gone, a haunting beautiful melody, encompassing longing and pure emotion. We are humbled by the magnitude of Kashmir, surely the most immense peaean ever invoked on a Gibson?
We are privvy to the full range of the mighty Zep's songbook, the fabulously naughty Trampled Underfoot with it's relentless bassline and climactic vocal, the tender majesty of Bron y Aur and the loquacious reverence of In the Light.
Top this lot with the sheer animal grunt of In my time of dying - and you are left bereft of any sense of normality. I believe in the power of music and this album is more powerful than anything before or since.
This album was Led...
