The Nancy Drew books, created by Carolyn Keene, have been around for years, which obviously created a bit of a dilemma for the director of this film, Andrew Fleming, because he must have wanted both to create characters and a story that would suit Nancy Drew fans and attract a new legion of fans by coming up with something a bit more modern than the original stories. Swank doesn't really have that false star quality that other actresses may have brought to the part. Instead she's just real and her performance is very subtle and deserving of the awards it received.
The screenplay, music and supporting parts are also very classy. I can't really put into words how old-fashioned this movie is and how good I felt after it. That may sound odd if you've seen the movie but I feel this is the kind of film we'll now get more used to seeing. About The Marlowe Theatre
The Marlowe Theatre in Canterbury was redeveloped in 2005 and currently it is spread across three floors. Inside, there are two auditoriums, one of which has 1,200 seats and the other one has around 200 seats. Also inside is a bar on each of the three floors, a café and a hospitality suite.

The Marlowe Theatre is at the lower end of the City centre and is easily accessible whatever you choose at your mode of transport.
