“The Don Killuminati: The 7 Day Theory” came out late in 1996, and had 2Pac take on a new persona as Makaveli (following the time spend reading Machiavelli’s “The Prince” in prison). It was the second album from him in the year, after dropping the classic “All Eyez On Me” earlier on, but unfortunately he was killed before he was given a chance to drop this, his final completed work.

1. “Intro”

2. “Hail Mary”

This track begins a string of recordings which went on to become singles for him, and for this one, it is probably the most significant track off the album as it is considered to be one of his best creations ever as he flows on top of the type of beats which we would associate from the Horrocore phase a few years later. It is a very dark one, and it is all about the lyrics, so you need to follow closely to stay up on it all.

**Four Stars**

3. “Toss It Up”

After straight killing it with their presence on the album prior to this, you have K-Ci & JoJo, fresh off their breakup of the band Jodeci; sing on the chorus of this one. It finds them making the most of the beats which have been given to them as some relatively unknown guys take over with the production, and makes a banger out of it as the rapper does some light Gangsta Rap.

**Five Stars**

4. “To Live & Die In LA”

I have to say that this is certainly a very memorable tune on the album, and one you are unlikely to want to forget as it has him on some laid-back stuff to get you grooving as he just takes things back a little to the good old days, as he samples a little Prince on some beats from QDIII. It is one of the best on the album, and I can’t see how anyone cold see it any other way, especially with it forcing a comparison with “California Love”.

**Five Stars**

5. “Blasphemy”
The lyrics of this track seem to flow out of the rapper without any thought at all, it just flows out so simply, and leads to you just listing in awe as he rages with the way that he delivers it all. He recites rules which he lives by in this one, and from it he describes how he puts these into action in everyday life. It is dark, and takes you over as you hear his words.

**Four Stars**

6. “Life Of An Outlaw”

This track refers to the group which Makaveli established towards the end of his life, and has him backed by all of the members of the group to as Young Noble, E.D.I. Mean, Kastro and Napoleon all get a chance to jump on the beat in the final verse. The grooves in this one invite you in and indicate that we are in for a shift as you can feel the Mafioso twist to it all.

**Five Stars**

7. Just Like Daddy”

You have this one based upon the classic “Impeach the President” break, and when every other person has jumped on to of it (LL Cool J, Big Daddy Kane and Nas) it has resulted in some of the most influential material ever, in this case I would quite say that it was that effective, but t is certainly a track which utilised its simplicity well to come up with results which most would want a few listens of.

**Four Stars**

8. “Krazy”

This track has the artist just letting his guard down and chilling while he smokes weed, and speaking on how he must indulged in these moments as his life is filled with so many troubles that if he was to have them prominently in his mind at all times he would simply go mad. The production from Big D leads him in to it well, and allows him to find where he needs to be in order to convey these ideas.

9. White Man’z World”

The title to this one pretty much sums up the way that Makaveli chooses to take this one. He seems to take us back to his earliest years as he questioned why life is how it is, and in this case he describes how difficult it is for anyone not fitting the white, middle-classed male description has no real opportunities to prosper in this world.

**Four Stars**

10. “Me and My Girlfriend”

Covered by many others including Jay-Z and Eminem, this track has the rapper doing a pretty straight-forward track as he rides with his girl in a type of Bonne & Clyde style as they are on the run. He describes how any girl who he is with must be prepared for such a hectic lifestyle, as he is only down for someone who is down for his way of living life (one which is non-idyllic for most).

**Four Stars**

11. “Hold Ya Head”

The grooves in this track are funky, and they significantly contrast from the way that the rapper goes about delivering his lyrics as he goes in on the thing relentlessly, and does give you any time to come up for air. It is a prime example of how he is able to dominate a recording and bring a listener down, even when the beats indicate something completely different.

**Four Stars**

12. “Against All Odds”

To end the album off ‘Pac, (as Makaveli does a track which has him doing a tune which has him just let out everything else he has to say as he takes on all of those who he had a serious issue with before getting into what are some straight hardcore lyrics. It reflects the fact that there is a massive shift in his material from “All Eyez On Me” to this one, despite the short length of time between releases.

**Four Stars**

It is unfortunate that he was never given the opportunity to see the reaction of this album form his fans as it did so well, and straight off a double-album, it shows just how much creativity he had within him to come up with another range of killer tunes to come together as an entirely new project under a new moniker and state of mind.
