This 11 track effort from one of Disney's newest pop starlets is surprisingly good! Don't let the "Disney" label put you off, or the fact that it was co written by the Jonas Brothers. If you are a pop fan, definitely give this album a try. Demi is clearly very into singalong pop as well as being a big rock fan, and this is reflected in her songs. Big guitar tracks as well as a chilled out piano song at the end give the album a good mix of songs rather than having the whole CD sounding "samey". She has a huge voice, very clearly inspired by Kelly Clarkson but at the same time having her own distinctive style. The first track is a very cheesy pop song about the "La La Land" that is Hollywood and how Lovato promises to stay true to herself even though she is living in a world that doesn't want her to be, but at the same time as it being cheesy she shows that she can definitely sing and sets up the album in a way that promises to be unique to other popstars out there at the moment. For Jonas Brothers fans (not even necessarily just fans of them, I'm not a fan but I still love this track), check out the song "On the Line" which is where the Jo-Bros team up with Demi, this is probably where Demi shows off the best of her vocal skills on the album, she has a big range and a very strong voice! One of my favourites at the moment is "Trainwreck" which was written just by Lovato by herself and shows off her future songwriting potential, it is worth a listen! "Two Worlds Collide" is at first listen a sing along love song, but is actually written about her best friend and how their different lives compliment eachother in just the right way. Believe in Me, the last song is about feeling comfortable in your own skin and learning to love and believe in yourself, which shows that Demi Lovato is a great role model for younger fans by teaching them to believe in themselves. Whether you are a massive pop fan, or you are into rockier music but still like strong female vocals, give Demi a listen because she has very guitar based tracks so there is something in there that you will like, whether it be the music, the lyrics, the vocals or the general attitude and message of the album.
