Full review
Hello dear community, I've chosen one of my first albums, Dookie from Green Day, to write about. I had to buy it at that time it was released, since Basket Case was my absolute favorite song. By the album I was even so inspired that I wanted to be a punk. The only thing which remained is an oversize poster with the copy of the cover over my bed. But now to the songs.

*Burnout*
A short drum roll before this Song fully starts. The melody and the singing are very in usual, so that the Song loads to going off, even if it is not particularly hard. The text deals with the feeling of indifference in puberty. Particularly here the drums succeeded. A very good beginning. 2:07min

*Having A Blast*
Goes off likewise strongly forward. Absorbed guitars and choir singing provide here for enthusiasm. The text deals with an forced upon friendship. I find the text and also the song very good. 2:44min

*Chump*
This song scores with an ingenious drummer and great guitars. The best at this song is however the text, which is written from the view of a person who is hating everything senselessly, who puts the complete illogicalness of its world view openly. I think here are above all meant fascists and in addition other intolerant humans. Ingeniously also the furiose final. A very good song. 2:53min

*Longview*
This Song starts beginningless from Chump. The drums are used as a connection. In the verse only the bass is used, which gives the song a whole calm tendency. To the chorus with drums and e-guitar you can jump around very well. The text concerns someone who squats the whole time at home, having nothing to do, living in boredom. But something can improve its mood, I think the line "Smoking My Inspiration" says everything. 3:58min

*Welcome To Paradise*
This song also does not screw the tempo back. I find the choir singing and the drums particularly good. The text is structured in the form of a letter to the singer's mother. The history of a man is told, who left his home to live in the "slums". He writes how gladly he would be if his mother visited him in order to show her this alleged paradies. He writes that after three weeks. After six months he resigned himself to the situation and does not want to come back anymore. A good Song. 3:44min

*Pulling Teeth*
Not a Metallica-cover! In this song different instruments than the bass are playing and there's also singing. It's the first song not completely so fast, but somewhat more absorbed, but it's still not a mid-speed song. The text deals with an dominant girlfriend. 2:30min

*Basket Case*
For me a timeless hymn. Still I'm able to forget everything while listening to this song. If the Song is presented somewhere today, there is still no more holding. It goes with absorbed guitars and a calm singing loosely, before then with a cracking fill and the application of the bass the chorus is initiated. Now nobody is able to stand around calme anymore. After the chorus the speed is kept constantly high, no breaks! Green Day created a hymn for loosers, typical situations from such a life are specified. Simply only ingeniously, timeless. I'll love the song also in 50 years. 3:01min

*She*
This Song seems to be a slow song at first, because there's no guitar in the verse and the singing is rather whispering. In the chorus the song becomes faster and harder. As far as I understood it, the text deals with a person, whose thoughts are imprisoned in its body. Likewise a very good song. 2:14min

*Sassafras Root*
Again a song totally in your face. The riff is very good and there's also a choir. It constantly repeats the cliche Wasting Your Time. I also like this song very much. Simply perfectly for going off. 2:37min

*When I Come Around*
This song was, exactly like Basket Case, a giant hit and also well-known to me. It doesn't start as fast as this song, but it is a smasher nevertheless. I can still remember the video exactly in which the band walks around the houses at night and you can observe the inhabitants in its dwellings. The Song actually offers an ingenious melody and the ingenious singing of Billie Joe. For me not completely as well as Basket Case, but definitely a classic which I often put in my CD-player. 2:58min

*Coming Clean*
Again an absolute catchy tune. A in-usual melody and an ingenious singing, which tells about a 17year-old boy, who thinks he's gained life experience by using drugs. He also talks about several hallucinations. The song goes immediately into your head, special praise to the drums. 1:34min

*Emenius Sleepus*
This Song has one of the best riffs on the whole album. I like the way tension is created and the the drums play a fill and the song goes off extremely, unfortunately only for 1:43min.

*In The End*
Applies also here: Do not confuse this song with Linkin park. The Song sounds also completely differently, instead of rap you can hear bawling and the speed is clearly higher. Also with this song the drummer makes a good impression to me. The text again deals with a disliked friendship. 1:46min

*F.O.D.*
Begins very calmly with an accoustic-guitar. The text isn't calm at all, because it concerns destroying a bridge for fun. In the end the song accelerates however, now is it typical for Green Day. Since the mixture is nevertheless delightful and I listen to the song again and again this song is my special hint to you. At the end there's also hidden track. 5:45min

*Result*
With this album more or less my interest in rock started. Today I still listen to this album from time to time, since most songs are simply timeless, a characteristic, which you find rather hard in today's music. Therefore five asterisks and a recommendation.

I hope my English wasn't too bad and you liked my first opinion here. Comments are welcome. Thank you!
