Dora the explorer is a family favourite. My Daughter is a big fan of the TV show, and Mummy and Daddy don't hate it. So, Dora is always an option when it comes to buying presents.
I was looking for a birthday present for my daughter for her fourth birthday, I wanted something she wouldn't play with once then not be bothered with any more, something educational and of course, something that was fun.
Browsing the Argos catalogue I came across Dora The Explorer's Adventure game, and it piqued my interest. Suitable for children aged three and up, and only £9.99, which I thought sounded good value for a board game that would hopefully, last for a good few years and get played often. So, after a bit of online research and a bit of umming and ahhhing I made the purchase.

Dora the Explorer is a cartoon aimed at pre-school children. It is inter-active, encouraging children to play along in the adventures. It's aim is to encourage problem solving in pre-schoolers by encouraging them and helping them to work through a problem.
Dora is a character in a computer programme. In each episode she encounters programmes, and the child is then asked to answer a question. There is a gap between the question being asked and the answer eing given on the show, allowing time for the child to answer.
Dora speaks English but also speaks Spanish. The programme uses basic Spanish words and asks the child to repeat them. This helps them with basic knowledge of Spanish.

One of my good friends gave my daughter a copy of this DVD - Dora The Explorer - Rhymes and Riddles (Animated). My daughter then was one year old when she was given this DVD. This DVD was so wonderful because my daughter really enjoyed all the rhymes and riddles. She also enjoyed the colorful animation of this DVD and most of all she loved Dora's song "We did it". There is not a day that I do not let my daughter watch this DVD. This has been very helpful to her listening skills, memory and speech. Now that she is already 4 years old, she still loves to watch Dora The Explorer - Rhymes And Riddles. I am very happy about this DVD and I recommend this one to all the moms out there to have a copy.
