Album Notes: Harpist/composer Andreas Vollenweider was one of the key figures in the early New Age genre, and his electric harp, which can range in feel from a stately classical approach to snappy syncopation to lush ambient textures, is the defining aspect of his work. DOWN TO THE MOON remains one of Vollenweider's best and best-loved albums, combining his penchant for jazzy ethnic fusion with delicate, spectral atmospherics that go well with the album's lunar theme. The title track, for example, sends the listener into orbit with its chiming, lightheaded sparkle of sound.

In 1994 he released his first cd "ll Mare Calmo Della Sera" for which he recieved his first Golden Disc.
In September 1994 he was invited to sing with Pavarotti at his benefit concert: "Pavarotti International" in Modena, also singing with Nancy Gustafson, Giorgia, AndreasVollenweider and Bryan Adams in the finale "Brindisi" from La Traviata.
Busy year 1994 because he also sang before the Pope "Adeste Fideles" in St Peter's Basilica, Rome at Christmas.
1995 his first son - Amos was born February 22nd. Bocelli took 4th place in a competition in Sanremo.
1996 he duetted with Sarah Brightman (ex-wife of musical writer Andrew Lloyd Webber) singing "Con Te Partire" (Time to say Goodbye).

Advantages: Folk rock at it's best, magical lyrics, soothing vocals and enchanting lullabies, a real treat for the ears Disadvantages: None
...at mid-point is superb and just sprays magic dust all over this melodic work of art. The rhythm and pitch of the guitar strums intensify in and out of each other almost, Nick's emotions are flying high here and produce something truly wonderful.
' I saw it written and I saw it say, Pink Moon is on it's way. And none of you stand so tall, Pink Moon gonna get ye all. And it's a Pink Moon, yes, a Pink Moon.'

The acoustic guitar Nick must be using is superb every chord he plays is so deep and seems to reverberate around the song itself. Place to be seems to be about Nick describing his present condition and where he yearns to be. The repetition of the chords that finger pick up and down is top notch. The song itself seems to smother your mind, Nick wraps it with his own glary emotions and pulls it off suddenly...
