Additional notes

Album Notes: For his third full-length LP on Stones Throw, DR. NO'S OXPERIMENT, Oh No did some serious loop digging, journeying from the Mediterranean to the Middle East to sample everything from Anatolian folk records to Turkish psych rock. The end result is an incredibly imaginative work of instrumental hip-hop--a testament to the genre's great versatility.

Album Reviews: Uncut (p.101) - 4 stars out of 5 -- "[T]he non-western scales give an irresistible swing and the sheer size of the electric fuzz makes for wickedly heavy hip hop."

Not all is good in the hood
Review of 2001 - Dr. Dre by  EddM

Advantages: About 5 good songs
Disadvantages: Pause 4 porno.

...Dr. Dre, the famous, "Ground breaking" rapper. Fair enough, he was but this alnum 2001 is nothing more but a slap in the face of rap. People like Dre have been putting it down for years, doing well to stay in the game, but then "Dr. Dre, Mr. NWA" and then Dre brings this out and mot of the songs on there are pratcilly pop which is bad. However there are some very good songs on that CD, "Forgot about Dre" "Whats the difference" "Murder Ink" but it is a shame to have to listen to such filth as "Pause 4 porno" What is that? it is a waste of space on a 20+ album, oh dear. All i am saying is, get the Chronic album, it is more Rap than Pop, which is what i would expect from Dre.... Read review

Yes, we all know who Dr. Dre is, but how many of you can say youve listened to this album. If you havent your nothing but a fake. This is the definition of gangsta rap. DRE in his prime! You may have heard one or two tracks from this album already but it is definetly one you must have in your collection Unforgetable cd, literally, black disc with a bright green ganja leaf on the front!! now thats a cd design lol!! kids only buy this is your mum is kool with you listening to alot of swear words, i remembered my mum saying... oh lovely! do you have to play that so loud! Wit Dre Day
Review of Chronic, The [PA] - Dr. Dre by  Juk

Advantages: It's one of the best G-Funk stuff about, but I think Snoop's Doggystyle is better.
Disadvantages: No Disadvantages

..." THE CHRONIC " Dr.Dre's 1st Solo album after he split from N.W.A., On Dre's and Suge Knight's new Record Label DEATH ROW RECORDS (1992). The Chronic was definately the best album of 1992 and the only album that beats the chronic is Snoop Doggy Dogg's Debut album Doggystyle in 1993, them two albums were definately the best rap albums of the 90's The Chronic wouldn't have been at all what it was without Snoop Doggy Dogg and all the others such as : RBX, Jewell, Dat Nigga Daz, Nate Dogg, Warren G, D.O.C, Rage, Kurupt, + a few extra's. Most of the tracks on The Chronic are pretty good especially Nuthin' But A "G" Thang, Wit Dre Day, Rat-Tat-Tat-Tat, Stranded On Death Row, The Day The Niggaz Took Over, Let Me Ride, The Chronic [INTRO] and the bonus track, that "Bitches Ain't Shit" one that one's pretty good, Oh yeah and the start of DEEEZ...
