...I bought this cd for my 6 month old daughter. My daughter seems to be soothed by the music, i tend to play it when i put her to sleep, instead of using a mobile, she drops off very quickly using this cd, so i am pleased, however i do not personally rate the music myself! The cd has various songs playing which are very soothing and calming, we tend to leave it playing on repeat whilst she is asleep, and if she wakes up in the middle of the night, she tends to drift back off without any problems, however on nights we dont use the cd, we tend to have many many more problems in settling her again, so i think this cd is very good.... ...T , find out what it means to me", this is definitely a sing along song and you can sing along while you wash down the skirting boards in your house and wiggle your bum in time to the music! Gloria Gaynor - I Will Survive - "First I was afraid, I was petrified ………go on now go, walk out the door." Well the thing that petrifies me is spiders so this is the song to sing whilst getting rid of those cobwebs. It's a girl power song, so goodbye spiders. The Foundations - Build Me Up Buttercup - "Why do you build me Buttercup baby just to let me down." Not one of my favourite songs on the album but you can plump up the cushions to build them up whilst you sing this one. The Monkees - Daydream Believer - Had almost forgot about the Monkees until I listened to this song again. "Cheer up sleepy Jean, oh what can it mean, to a daydream believer... Read review

...Holiday and Peggy Lee, and also some more artistes with whom I was unfamilar. It opens with Nina Simone's classic hit, the upbeat but gentle 'My Baby Just Cares For Me.' Moving on to Gladys Knight, and her backing band the Pip: This song -' (You're the) Best Thing That Ever Happened To Me' - was a huge hit in the 1970's, with its majestic vocals and aching lyrics. Highly recommended. Track 4, also by Nina Simone -' I Loves You Porgy' is from the musical Porgy and Bess. Track 14, My Funny Valentine by Dinah Shore is a song I know well, although I had not heard of the singer before. ~~~Recommendation If you a familiar with these names, then I hope that there would still be a some tracks and musicians new for you to discover here. If like me, you know a few a few of the names, I found it a great way to get to know other singers... Read review
