I bought this cd one day after having a browse through a high street music shop. I came across it and started having a browse of the tunes on the cd. As a listener/dj of drum and bass, i recognised a few of these tunes and thought why not.
There are a lot of timeless tunes all mixed by Goldie. Notice i say mixed, so if you are expecting the tunes to be played on their own, unmixed, in their original state then this is not for you. It is recorded as a constant mix.
This cd is mainly more down tempo, more mellow drum and bass. So if you are expecting dirty tunes or grime, then again, this is not for you. Although saying this, this cd does feature Krust - Warhead, which as people into drum and bass will know, is a grimey tune.
Anyway, I can appreciate this cd, although not mixed as well as a lot of mixes i have heard, it is a good cd. A lot of the drops are spot on. For example I really like when Goldie mixes Barcelona by D.Kay & Epsilon/Stamina MC into Brown Paper Bag by Roni Size.

I'll be completely honest, a lot of the songs on this cd, i hadn't heard before buying this cd but i can guarantee you, they are all worth a listen. They are all classic tunes from 1996-2006. All the tunes that have been killed at drum and bass nights all over the world in the last ten years.
I think the second cd is better overall, mainly between tracks 13 and 18, all the tracks just flow in together and they are all very well produced tunes. Proper listenable at any time.
I don't regret buying this cd, it was definately worth the tenner i spent on it.
Lots of timeless tunes, and i haven't stopped listening to the cd in my car yet.
Recommended for drum and bass heads

You're right - it's not the best mix in the world but the drops are done to perfection here so it's well worth checking out for anyone into Drum&Bass, or particularly those just getting into it so that they can be presented with a brief history of D&B. What kind of stuff do you mix?
