Upping Sticks.

Advantages: Interesting
Disadvantages: Not quite the book it could have been

Moving home is widely held to be one of the most traumatic experiences in our lives. And, yes, I have to admit that moving home can be a migraine-inducing traumatic nightmare. If only someone had written a book that would help you to move home! Well, fret no more, potential home mover. For someone has done precisely that. Written a guidebook to take the heartache and the stress out of moving home. Dr Sandi Mann and Dr Paul Seager have joined forces to write the book "Upping Sticks." The subtitle of the book is: "How to move house and stay sane." The book is well-laid out in a number of different areas. It lists and goes through various reasons why you might be considering moving home such as: down or upsizing, leaving home, moving home when your children are all grown up, moving for work and so forth. It lists the top ...

Half Nelson- A Gem of a film

Advantages: Fantastic performance.Beautifully made.has a charm of its own
Disadvantages: None

I was meant to see this film for quite a while now and finally saw it the other day. I am so sorry that I neglected this film for so long; a quality film like this shouldn't wait to be watched! Directed and co-written by Ryan Fleck, it stars Ryan Gosling. Ryan Gosling plays Dan Dunne, a school teacher who has drug problems himself. The film is just based on Dan's interaction with students which comprises most part of his life. One of the main focus point of the film lies in the bonding he shares with one of his students who finds him in the school bathroom doing drugs. In one sense the film doesn't have a broad story but the director knows how he wants his film to shape up, he stays with Dan's character the whole time. A film which rests solely on a couple of characters needs to be poignant and intense and this film is nothing short ...

NELSON' S BAR - AND NELSON WOULD BE PROUD OF IT!

Advantages: Nice home-made food; pleasant atmosphere
Disadvantages: The chips come ready salted

Nelson's Bar is situated within The Grosvenor Arms Pulford Hotel, a beautiful sandstone manor house set back from the main Wrexham Road in Pulford, Chester. Not to be confused with Ciro's Brasserie, the alternative eatery within the hotel and which, as can be seen from one of my previous reviews, I would not personally recommend, Nelson's Bar is a very relaxed, informal restaurant which serves a wide variety of lovely food, and at the same time, is not overly expensive. My last visit to Nelson's Bar was just a couple of months ago when we were invited out for lunch to celebrate my auntie's birthday. We are a fairly informal, laid back lot and for this kind of get together, we always look out for a restaurant with good food and a nice atmosphere, yet one where we can chill out without having to worry whether my four year old is going ...
