I think a lot of people under-estimate Blink 182 and judge them just by their more popular release from '99 'Enema of The State' with which they received perhaps their first bout of major publicity and recognition. I have been a great fan of the Blink 182 lads ever since they were still in their original line-up with Scott Raynor on drums. I own 4 of their albums but out of them all Dude Ranch stands out as a musical wonder above the rest.

Every song Blink 182 have ever written are great, with simple but effective rhythms and catchy childish lyrics! This immaturity is what makes them so fun and makes Blink 182 what they are, this shines through when you listen to Dude Ranch. This album is a lot less commercial than Enema of The State as it is older and less publicised but is still far better in my opinion.

Each and every track on Dude Ranch is amazing, with bouncy happy rhythms that i love and catchy, humourous lyrics!! The words show the bands immaturity bu i think this is one of the reasons that they are so attractive to me - after all - no-one ever wants to grow up!

The cover is bright + colourful just how i like it and shows all 3 of the band in its original line-up in compromising positions on a ranch! The entire inlay is based on a country and western theme and you are shown various pictures of tom, mark and scott in their fetching cowboy suits and hats!!

1. Pathetic - about being dumped by your girlfriend (2.28 mins)

2. Voyeur - about spying through the girl you likes window! (2.43 mins)

3. Dammit - about having to grow up (2.45 mins)

4. Boring - about hearing the same story over and over again until you are sick of hearing it! (1.41 mins)

5. Dick Lips - about making excuses to your parents! (2.57 mins)

6. Waggy - about a boy who has left his girlfriend (3.16 mins)

7. Enthused - about being ignored by your girlfriend (2.48 mins)

8. Untitled - about chasing after a girl and then failing to win her over (2.46 mins)

9. Apple Shampoo - about a relationship falling apart because they are doing different things with their lives (2.52 mins)

10. Emo - about a girls boyfriend being a waste of time but she doesnt want to lose him despite her friends advice (2.50 mins)

11. Josie - about a perfect girlfriend (3.19 mins)

12. A New Hope - about being in love with Princess Leia and dreaming about her at night and waking up alone (3.45 mins)

13. Degenerate - about a drunken loser (2.28 mins)

14. Lemmings - about a guy who wants to find his friends and start all over again (2.38)

15. Im Sorry - about losing a friend and having to continue with life and move on (4.27 mins)

Overall this is an amazing album and the lyrics in each track relate to normal everyday things that teenagers and adults alike all have to go through in their lifetime, something we can all relate to. The congs are bouncy and have a great energy to them which makes this my favourite Blink 182 album so far!! Definitely worth buying!
