...StevieRayVaughan (or SRV as he is often known) was an Austin guitarists/singer/songwriter, releasing only five studio albums before his life was untimely ended in a helicopter crash. With his unique guitar tone and individual style, Stevie is still considered one of the greatest rock-blues guitarist of all time, inspiring young players to this day.
Eventually going on to appear on albums for the likes of Davie Bowie and Jackson Browne, 'Texas Flood' was his and his band Double Trouble, (Chris Layton on drums and Tommy Shannon on bass) debut album. Originally released in 1983, here we have a remastered version released in 1999, with some Bonus Tracks thrown in for good measure.

"I got the blues yeah..." Thats what most people think of when they consider the blues. I used to hate the blues. It's a kind of aquired taste , something like a fine bourbon. Hard to swallow at first. When you get into it you start to appreciate the finer aspects of it. After a few years of constant use , you wake up having to start your day the stuff. Blues music that is.
So who's this Stevie fellow?
He's the master , thats who he is. Or was. He has sadly passed away , young and untimely like all the finest do. Sid Vicous , Jimi Hendrix, John Lennon , Kurt Cobain. ...After his unexpected death, Ray charles left 60 years of his time on his record label, making timeless music, with mixture of jazz, blues, gospel, country, soul, and rock ’n‘ roll.
There was something very memorable about his unforgettable performances, he truely inspired alot of modern artists with his music.
This new released album is duet album...every song is a duet with the worlds hottest soul/jazz singers: Nelson, Norah Jones, Natalie Cole, Bonnie Raitt and many more.
it has to be said that he does shine the most with his duets, for example of a very heart moving duet is "Here We Go Again" feat the new shining talent Nora Jones, a soul beat ballad, a beautifull romantic recreation.
The duet with James Taylor "Sweet Potato" which shifts into neo-soul sounds, with gitar riffs and the very unmissable saxaphone.
