Advantages: Very funny/Cool music Disadvantages: Can get repetitive.
Brutal Legend
Brutal Legend is a non-stop homage to Heavy Metal. You step into the shoes of Eddie Riggs the greatest roadie of all time. Who must gather an army, to start a revolution and rid Heavy Metal Heaven of a grave evil.
The writing is sharp and humour is present throughout the game. The cut scenes have embedded cameos and in jokes for any Metal fans to relish. Jack Black lends his voice to Eddie and he does it fantastically, you can really tell he loves this character.
Actually all the voice acting is of a high quality as is the character development throughout the game. The graphics are cartoony but still suit and drag you into this surreal rock world.
The combat has its own style, a simple melee with the axe and long range shooting attack with your guitar mix things up. You'll spend a large time ...
Advantages: Great characters, a real page turner Disadvantages: A bit disappointing towards the end, lacks substance
officer and his daughter, he becomes extremely warm and likeable and his attachment to the story behind the paintings is enjoyable to read.
One main negative I had with the book is probably a rather gruesome one; I would have liked the paintings to be described more; we are told that they are both beautiful but brutal but little else, so I guess they are left to the reader's imagination. Just to know why the artist drew such pictures would have been enough but the intrigue that develops makes it a great page-turner. In fact, I found myself whizzing through the chapters to find out what happened next.
This really was a fantastic book, and the interwoven story gave it a different twist. It is billed as a thriller, but I am not quite sure you can claim it as such. There is a murder mystery attached to the central story, but it is more ...
Advantages: lots of different tasks to do, funny characters, great music Disadvantages: probably not for 'hard core gamers' who like shooting at things, I feel this game has more heart
Now I am not your average 'gamer' I have never owned a console and have only ever had a few goes on my boyfriend's PS3... well technically it's our PS3, but I have just never been interested in the games, until that is... Brutal Legend came out!
I am a big fan of Jack Black, but thats not why this game is so awesome! (Well it adds to it) the music is amazing and really gets you into the game. Visually its fantastic, with loads of cool movie scenes to tell you the story. Jack Black injects his humour and passio for Rock into the character 'Eddie' and other characters such as Ozzy Osbourne appear throughout!
The game it'self, in my opinion, has something for everyone. How else could it have attracted me, the practical computer game virgin to spend hours in front of my TV!? There are fights, places to explore, people to meet ...
