...This is the brand new and brilliant album from thrice. It is the second part from their four disk alchemy Index concept album and is the more acoustic layed back side of the album. As you may already know Thrice have gone all out with these albums and have recorded all of them from their own home with Teppei doing most of the recording work while Dustin as unusual taking responsibility for most of the writing . This disk consists of two sides as follows Air and Earth. Air consisting of a massive range right across the musical spectrum providing songs like Broken Lungs and Daedalus providing brilliant lyrics and vocal performances from Dustin and the rest of the band really big sounding epic tracks. ...Alchemy is a live-album from the Dire Straits from 1984. Before listening to this Album, you should first listen to the first dire straits albums: Dire Straits, Communiqué, Making movies, Love over gold. Listened to these? Do you like them? You're prepared for alchemy now. You will find on Alchemy a dozen of songs from these albums. The thing is, on Alchemy they added another dimension... They made new songs of it: uncredible guitar solo's, emotion, schwung, ... An overview: CD 1 ONCE UPON A TIME IN THE WEST It starts with one of the strongest tracks. "Once upon time..." is a track from Communiqué. It's good on that album, but a little pale. ...This is the first part of Thrice's two part concept album Alchemy Index which has been completely produced and recorded by Thrice them selves. The disks were mostly recorded from there home studio by Teppei Teranishi the lead guitarist of thrice whilst Dustin as usual took the leading role in writing most of the material. Now if you haven't heard about these albums the alchemy index is a concept album based on the four natural elements Water,Fire,Earth and Air.
