Advantages: Fits into many genres, appealing to many. Disadvantages: Not entirely representative of his current 'sound'.

This is the 'first' album from the almost one man band The Rocket Summer. Bryce Avary plays all the instruments on his tracks, but not, obviously, in the live concerts.
This album contains tracks from when Bryce first started making music as a teenager. It therefore contains songs everyone can, or once could, relate ... ...as 'happy emo' and there really is no better way of putting it. If you listened to the songs without listening to the words, you could mistakenly think he hates life, when in fact, he's usually rejoicing about something.
However, I have noticed that you can buy this album for prices such as £10.99 which ridiculous when it only contains 6 tracks. And yes these tracks are all really catchy and you can listen to a very talented person, but his gigs ...

Album Notes: The Rocket Summer is singer/songwriter Bryce Avary's vehicle for his miniature pop opuses, in which he performs a succession of guitar, drums, and keyboard-accompanied, listener-friendly songs that tend towards the lighter side of emo. This collection often displays an imaginatively layered punk approach, particularly on the nicely put together "My Typical Angel"; it's all the more remarkable for having been recorded when Avary was 15.
