DVD Review If you are into contemporary jazz or simply just want to hear something new and refreshing, this DVD will surely captivate your heart as it has captured mine. Michael Buble (I cannot find the special 'e' character to denote a specific pronunciation of his last name. But yeah, it is pronounced with two syllables) who has I believe brought back to life Jazz in its more refreshing tune was sensational in this concert of his in Wiltern Theater ... ...singing some hits of the past breathtakingly effortless. This concert just made me love Michael Buble more. I especially like Michael Buble's duet with Laura Pausini on "You'll Never Find Another Love Like Mine." It is romantic and swaying and it reminds me of Robbie William and Nicole Kidman's "Something Stupid". "Feeling Good" is also my favorite in the concert. The song arrangement is excellent , very lively. The other songs have their own share ...
Advantages: stylish performance, consistent through all tracks Disadvantages: lots of covers (but that's what Michael does)
...It Is sounds like blues, it's just like milder version of SRV with piano instead of guitar, but it still sound consistent with the rest of the tracks, bringing freshness to this jazzy climate. Song For You is definitely a highlight of this CD with Chris Botti, an established trumpeter, playing nice, atmospheric passages through this track. Classic Frank Sinatra's interpretation of this tune needs no introduction, because I've Got You Under My ... ...his way with elegance and a touch. Stevie Wonder's You And I closes the album with gentle sounds of piano and orchestra. There are two bonus tracks Dream a Little Dream and Mack the Knife appearing on this CD. Well, brought together this CD is a very good choice for romantic night with your partner, as I said before, but if you want to listen to it in a car you might find youself driving off road sometimes. enjoy listening! ...
Advantages: fresh, original and uncategorisable music Disadvantages: none
It the beginning was the word, well a few words really and the words were “can you write some music for an Airline commercial?” Thus begins the story of Adiemus, a series of musical works that have now stretched to four albums, international fame and critical success. Its creator Karl Jenkins is now a well-respected composer in the field of classical music but his route to his exalted position today began in jazz music being a member ... ...the seminal bands of the 1970’s. Despite winning awards for his work with such bands and later for film scores and advertising music, it is perhaps the Adiemus projects that have become his best known work, a music that seems all encompassing in many ways and non-categorisable at the same time. A piece of work that Jenkins had in mind for another recording project was pitched to the aforementioned Airline company (Delta, if you must know), ...
Advantages: Some lovely peaceful music Disadvantages: None
...a Minimalist.
"In general I don't like definitions, but 'Minimalist' is a term that means elegance and openness, so I would prefer to be called a Minimalist than something else." -Ludovico Einaudi
And 'elegance and openness' is the best way to describe the music that is on this CD. The inside of the inlay of the CD tells that one time the composer was driving through part of Africa when a piece of music came on the radio. The music told the story ... ...or a loved one. I am not at all sure what this has got to do with the music on the CD - perhaps this piece of the music and the story behind it gave inspiration for the music, but I'm not sure about that.
Tracks on this CD include:
1. Melodia Africana I
2. I Due Fiumi
3. In Un'altra Vita
4. Melodia Africana II
5. Stella Del Mattino

Advantages: Very toned guitar riffs with loads of effects makes it spectacular Disadvantages: Can be a-bit repeatative at parts
Steve vai is a World famous guitarist. He is American and has played guitar since he was a kidso it goes without saying that he is great at what he does.
His playing takes many different tones but they are all designed to capture the listeners emotions. This CD has a very rock feel to it but it captures lots of emotions from Love to sorrow.
Steve has been in many bands since he was a kid. This is his most recent album with his band"steve Vai"
... ...Guitar: Dave Weiner Drums: Jeremy Colson
The band really work together producing one of the best linups yet.
This CD is great. Its like a guitar solo as a song a purely great peice of musical talent and a must have for all guitar players.
The starting song "building the Church" is a great opener and makes you want to keep listening and it only gets better as the crunchy guitsr tones meet the more exicting whamy bar action.
There is just so much ...
