This is a huge collection. It consists of three cds and in total 45 tracks. It covers most of the popular jazz greats but is probably a little too main stream for any connoisseur of jazz in the true sense. The first cd is by far the best. Their music comes under the opera , pop , classical and crossover genres. * Sancte Deus * This song starts off with one singer, then two singers and then the rest of the group join in. This song is very 'church choir'. The music appears too loud , as can't hear voices in some places on the song and the vocals are not that too clear. ...else to say about this song…um…..there is the sound of violins… * Make Me A Channel * This song starts off with all four of the girls singing. I like this song. It is sang beautifully and their voices blend well together. The song goes on with only one singer while the others 'oooh' and 'ahh' in the background. ...this is characteristic of Gregorian chant and an inexorable style of chant. I would recommend this CD to be used as a meditative background sound or one to just listen to and be enveloped in, providing a great way to relax or even sleep. Not sure what it is about this particular recording that has garnered so many accolades. Yes, it's soothing, pleasant and melodius, but so are most chants , and to my admittedly inexpert ears ,this is no better than similar offerings that often turn up in the 'price reduced' racks of record stores, book and gift shops. An expert in this form of music may well disagree , but I reckon that if you are simply in the market for relaxing sounds, you could ...
