Advantages: perfect pop songs, mature, amusing and catchy
Disadvantages: slightly dated production

This album contains some of Brain Eno's most commercial songs ever and some of John Cale's most atmospheric lyrics ever. Recorded in 1990 at Eno's home studio the sessions began amicably enough but by the end the two men were hardly speaking as Cale began to resent what he saw as Eno's constant tinkering with perfectly good recordings. The daggers between the faces on the album cover reflect this tension. However none of this is apparent when listening ...
...I own there is a perpetual sunny atmosphere throughout, which occasionally spills over into outright goofiness. The absurdity of the sea shanty "Empty Frame" is infectious and I defy anyone not to grin along with the tune. But somehow it avoids embarrassment and silliness. Other highlights include one of Eno's most romantic tunes "Spinnig Away" with its delightful lyric about sketching Arles' cathedral "with my pencil turning moments into lines" ... Read review

...two albums All Angels and Into Paradise. Their music comes under the opera , pop , classical and crossover genres. * Sancte Deus * This song starts off with one singer, then two singers and then the rest of the group join in. This song is very 'church choir'. The music appears too loud , as can't hear voices in some places on the song and the vocals are not that too clear. Not my favourite song. * In Paradisum * The music is played quite fast ...
...else to say about this song…um…..there is the sound of violins… * Make Me A Channel * This song starts off with all four of the girls singing. I like this song. It is sang beautifully and their voices blend well together. The song goes on with only one singer while the others 'oooh' and 'ahh' in the background. Advantages: Calming and soothing music.
Disadvantages: The tracks all generally resemble one another.

...this is characteristic of Gregorian chant and an inexorable style of chant. I would recommend this CD to be used as a meditative background sound or one to just listen to and be enveloped in, providing a great way to relax or even sleep. Not sure what it is about this particular recording that has garnered so many accolades. Yes, it's soothing, pleasant and melodius, but so are most chants , and to my admittedly inexpert ears ,this is no better than similar offerings that often turn up in the 'price reduced' racks of record stores, book and gift shops. An expert in this form of music may well disagree , but I reckon that if you are simply in the market for relaxing sounds, you could ...

You will often find a good selection of very similar recordings that have not had the benefit of a major recording company to promote them, but they are none the worse for this in terms and content or quality Why plough funds into the cloisters of some far-flung monastery when there are plenty of lovely old churches closer to home that would appreciate a donation to their coffers. ...
