Crow, Fiona Apple, Paula Cole, Tracy Chapman and Suzanne Vega. A revival is planned for the summer of 2010, to include a two week tour of the UK and Europe. Her songs have featured a fair bit in the movies, most recently in the 2007 Jodie Foster film ?The Brave One? (?Answer?), City of Angels in 1998 featuring Meg Ryan and Nicholas Cage (?Angel?) and The Brothers McMullan in 1995 (?I Will Remember You?). She has also recently released a ?Greatest Hits? album called ?Closer?, with two new tracks (?Don?t Give Up On Us? and ?U Want Me 2?) which brings together most of her significant work to date.
THE ALBUM
Her third studio album, Fumbling Toward Ecstasy (FTE) was released in 1993 and has since proved to be her international breakthrough. It produced two successful singles ? ?Possession? and ?Good Enough?, both of which have ...
Advantages: Solid and consistent quality Disadvantages: Ozzy's voice!
"Technical Ecstasy" is (oddly in my opinion) one of Black sabbath's more underrated albums. Coming at the tail-end of the first Ozzy Osbourne period, there is a common idea tha the band were beginning to lose some of their sparkle by this point. However, the music proves otherwise. "Back Street Kids" is intense, driving and straight to the point, and "You Won't Change Me" boasts some classic, monolithic Sabbath riffs.
The only thing that lets this album down really is Ozzy's voice, which let's face it has never been that great, but on this album it does start to grate a little more than usual. This is most noticeable on the ballad "She's Gone".
There are a couple of poor tracks- "Rock 'n' Roll doctor" is just silly, and "It's Allright", despite featurng Bill Ward on vocals, really sounds less than relevant compared to the rest ...
Advantages: His Voice Disadvantages: Some songs arnt the best, but most of them are fab!
I absolutely LOVE THIS ALBUM! Avant is definatly wayyyyy underrated, and not as known as he should be and deserve to be, his words are like liquid, so smooth and depending on the song quite sensual aswel, of course i would recommend any of his albums, but this one is definately my favourate. The songs, Happy, Seperated and I wanna know, are my fave songs, His songs will always feel like they relate to a part of you, and you can actually feel the emotion in his words and music.... I would definatly recommened this album, as well as all his other albums to anyone who loves RnB, and also likes a bit of soul music too, as lot of his songs are very soulful! Hope this helps!!! =) ...

Personnel includes: Avant (vocals); Cap-I, Sean Don (rap vocals); Steve "Stone" Huff (various instruments); Charlie Wilson (background vocals). Recorded at Stone Recording, Chicago, Illinois. On ECSTACY, Myron Avant, the Cleveland native who was also the first artist signed to Magic Johnson's MJM record label, sings satin sheet-smooth R&B with sexy self-assurance. It's tinged with an irresistible pleading tone which he uses time and again to devastating effect on cuts such as the smoky, after-hours "Thinkin' About You" and the reggae-inflected "What Do You Want." "Six in Da Morning" conjures the dazed, freaky mood of the end of a long night's partying, while the darker "Suicide" recalls an R&B poet of a previous generation, Percy Mayfield, in its brooding lyrics. Avant's silky tones are set against typically laid-back instrumentation, and his fragile vibrato lifts his material beyond the run of the mill--he's no mere R. Kelly copyist, though he's phenomenally popular in Kelly's home town of Chicago. His lyrics on this sophomore release are as direct as those on his debut MY THOUGHTS, but there's a new sophistication here both in his delivery and in ECSTASY's production that bodes well for this young star's future.
