Advantages: Some great music on the tracks Disadvantages: but some not so good ones - and quite expensive
This CD contains the music that was recorded at the EdinburghMilitaryTattoo in 2000 - the Golden Jubilee Year. The music is recorded livefrom the Esplanade of EdinburghCastle and the audience 'participation' is heard i.e. rounds of applause at the end of each item.
There is great variety in the types of music included on the CD - from traditional Scottish to South African Zulu music, fromMilitary Bands to Steel Orchestras. This variety in music helps create one very good CD to listen to. There are a few disadvantages to this CD though - some of the tracks arent as good and arent really as worth listening to, they just dont get the same feeling without seeing what is going on at the same time, especially with the South African Infantry Zulu Dance Team and another track. Other disadvantages are that the CD is qutie expensive ...

We made our way to the Castlefrom Princes Street in the New Town and across The Mound from where excellent views of the Old Town are provided. Once in ...
Advantages: Exciting, stunning, historic Disadvantages: Steep hill
buildings date from the 16th century, although a building has stood on this commanding location since at least the 9th century. At the very least it is worth climbing to its entrance to see the sentries at the gatehouse and to gaze at its venerable structure. You can also enjoy fabulous views from the Esplanade as the city stretches out beneath you.
If you haven't been before then I would definitely recommend that you pay up to go inside. Historic Scotland now run the Castle (which still has a military garrison) and it is very family-friendly. You will find coffee shops, an accessible and entertaining educational centre with interactive displays and plenty of nooks, crannies and impressive sights to impress you.
Highlights include the 12th century St Margaret's Chapel (the oldest visible part of the building); the Crown Room with its ...
