Half Man Half Biscuit for those that don't know come from Liverpool where all the best music ever comes from. They know everything there is to know about music and have numerous references to everything and anything in their songs.

This is one of the latest creations from the band.

All HMHB tunes are of variable quality recording wise, but you will laugh and unlike a lot of comedy songs you can listen to this many many more times.

6 Tracks:

1) Bob Wilson - Anchorman - A tirade of a song about how Bob Wilson on ITV ever got to be a sports presenter. The rhymes on this song are inspired.
Hard fast rock track

I've been to Kent,
Gwent
And Senegal,
I've even been to look for Jim Rosenthal -
Found him on his knees at the Wailing Wall crying
"Bob Wilson - Anchorman!"

2) On Passing Lilac Urine - a little folky song about English middle class and life in country villages.

My favourite line:
"Feng Shui OK
Grab the DVD
Keep it upstairs till the Bailiff's been
And I'll make herbal tea"

3. Lark Descending - a slow weary rambling song about nothing in particular - the weakest track on the EP.
"I could have like Lou Barlow, but I'm more like Ken Barlow."

4. Worried Man Blues - a happy blues song which denies the unworried man the right to sing this song. Like a less morbid version of "Song for Whoever" by the Beautiful South.

5. New York Skiffle - A genuine skiffle song but be warned the chorus is:
"Does your heroine lose its glamour on the washboard over night?
When your mother says don't do it do you cook it up in spite.
Do you rob your brother's giro?
Do you talk a load of shite?
Does your heroine lose its glamour on the washboard overnight?"

6. Vatican Broadside - an awesome ending to a truly great CD. This is a song about Slipknot; those who know how much I hate Slipknot will empathised with me when they hear this song. It is to the tune of a famous traditional song whose name escapes me.
"The singer out of Slipknot went to Rome to see the Pope" is the opening line. This song lasts 30 secs!!

This is a truly great sing-a-long CD and you will need to go to the HMHB website to get info on all the references on their CDs.
If you don't know this band this is a great introduction.

CD: £5.99 for 6 tracks - a steal
