Not to be confused with the wholly inferior Kevin Costner vehicle with the same name (Il Postino means "The Postman" - US title), this charming Italian language film won an Academy Award for Original Music Score and was nominated for five other awards including Best Director, Best Actor (Massimo Troisi) and Best Picture.
The film is based on an adaptation of a Spanish language novel, Ardiente Paciencia by Antonio Skarmeta and is based partly on real life events that happened to the 1971 Nobel Prize for Literature winning poet, Pablo Neruda. The Man you love.
I find myself singing it to my wife! Excellent song, fantastic lyrics and music. When the lyrics turned to Spanish I just said to my wife:? This is how you make a perfect song to sound even better?. Very nice, romantic and touching. A man will definitely sing it to the woman he loves. One of my favourites.*****

Two excellent songs, louder than the rest of the album and more opera-like songs. That doesn?t mean that they weren?t good. They were great. I thought I'd write a Weston-Super-Mare review since my husband and I took our little ones there today for a spot of sandcastle building. As we only live 15 minutes away, down the M5, it's a place I have frequented throughout my life.
My Grandparents live in Worle which is just off the motorway on the way in to Weston, and always took us to the seafront in the Summer, so this is the place I shall start.
THE SEA FRONT
Weston-Super-Mare is in North Somerset (previously Avon).
Weston-sur-la-mer (on-the-sea) became Weston-Super-Mare for obvious reasons... our tangled evolution of language! I suppose it is sort of on-the-sea, but is really on the Severn Estuary. This means that there is a lot of mud washing up and down! We often, jokingly call it Weston-Super-Mud!
