'Electric Ladyland' is considered by many to be one of the best albums ever made. This record more than any other sums up the psychedelic musical era started in the sixties, which seemed to come to an abrupt end with Hendrix death in 1970. It perfectly encapsulated the innovative style that Hendrix had developed over his tragically short career.

Advantages: Lots of Great Songs and loads of information on Jimi. Disadvantages: The only live song is Star Spangled Banner, Which is a shame because Jimi's Superb live.

...The third and final instalment from the Jimi Hendrix experience is another great album from the master of rock and blues. This album was both written and produced by Jimi himself showing that he was now assured to go on to greater things. This is a double album that adopts the music written on the previous two albums 'Are You Experienced' and 'Axis Bold as Love' and fuses them both into a final masterpiece. The psychedelic approach remains in tunes such as 'Burning of the Midnight Lamp' and the 'Muddy Waters' inspired blues of 'Voodoo Chile' previously shown in 'Red House' from his first album also remains (Jimi played as a session guitarists for Muddy Waters earlier in his life).
