Advantages: gorgeous little vignettes of music, all with their own character
Disadvantages: only that some of pieces are too short

...that I believe imbues the music with a certain character that you just don't get these days. The sheer act of physically moving tape, altering guitar and piano sounds with analogue synths gives these pieces a vitality and immediacy that remains with the listener for ever. ...4 tracks of beautifully crafted music and is pure delight and escapism for the listener. The tracks are simply entitled: 1/1, 2/1, 1/2, 2/2. This was originally was intended for LP so the numbers reflected which side of the LP they were on (piece of useless information there). 1/1: The repetitive melody played on the accoustic piano by Robert Wyatt is beautifully situated in amongst the orchestral musings of the Eno composition. ...me of some of the music from 'Bladerunner'. Brian Eno was the man who invented the word 'ambient' in musical terms (literally). He has produced several ground-breakng albums and by far and away the best are 'Apollo' and 'Music for Airports'. However, there are a few I haven't listened to yet. Advantages: Introduction to the ambient and punk godfather
Disadvantages: Leaves you wanting more

This Brian Eno creation is in two halves- a louder part and an ambient part , and all tracks give an insight into the methods used by Eno to create sound. His love of ambient- he created after all!- comes tjough in some beautifully crafted pieces, Here he comes drifts effortlessly into Julie with..., and By This River, - you can feel yourself there. I have actually got Spiller "Groovejet (If This ain't Love)" single on vinyl. I bought it from HMV, in 2006 for about £3 brand new. It has two tracks on it; "Groovejet (If This Ain't Love)-Extended Vocal Mix" with Sophie Ellis-Bextor 07:27 and "Groovejet-Solar Stone's Jet Groove Dub Mix". 05:55 It is essentially a DJ's copy but I play it myself. This 2CD compilation by Jay Burnett is very, very good. CD1 is relatively poor compared to CD2, which is amazing. Alternative mixes of Dido, Spiller "Cry Baby", Motorcycle "When the rush comes". David Bowie vs Scumfrog appears with an excellent "Loving The Alien". "Janeiro" by Solid Sessions is so, so chilled and takes my mind to another dimension.
