DJ Shadow rocks
Review of Endtroducing... (Deluxe Edition) [Digipak] [PA] - DJ Shadow by thestrayedproject

Advantages: Amazing beats and now featuring a dvd extra
Disadvantages: Old fans will already have this album

The first time i listened to this album it sent shivers down my spine and now it comes with the additional extra cd. Dj Shadow is by far one of the biggest names in Hip Hop and Big Beat. This album is some of his finest work, including the tune 'Midnight in a perfect world'. However the downside of this album is the short interludes unless the buyer is a huge fan. If you want to get into DJ Shadow and haven't bought any of his stuff before this ... Read review

The real sound of the underground
Review of Untrue - Burial by Jonny5sk

Advantages: Excellent mixing, sampling, lyrics and blend of an album
Disadvantages: The argument of "What is Dubstep and is this it?"

Untrue is the second album by dubstep producer, Burial. But, first let's get an idea of the genre, dubstep, which, since 2006, seems to be slowly rising in popularity but still leaves most people (including myself) completely confused as to what it is. Basically, dubstep is a genre, which has its influence from the London's garage scene in early 2000 and also a drum and bass feel towards it. But, if you're still confused, then Untrue is a good template ...
...this album with others is difficult, if you're going towards the direction of Massive Attack or Boards of Canada, I would say it's a mash up between those two artists, but, simply put, Untrue is its own unique sound, and its dubstep, but if you are still unsure, who cares. ... Read review

Time to destroy!
Review of Frost EP (Sent To Destroy) - Combichrist by Octaine

Advantages: 2 killer tracks, 1 fun song + remixes
Disadvantages: It's an EP

Combichrist's genre isn't easy to define but I'll give it a shot: CC is an in-your-face mix of techno, industrial, electro, alternative music and a some serious rock'n'roll attitude. Frontman/producer Andy Laplegua is not a stranger to razorsharp perfection when it comes to producing his music. This release is no exeption to the aforementioned description! We start off strong with the main track of the EP: Sent to destroy! A song which either invites ...
...to destroy, both induced by the adrenaline rush you get from this strong opener. Agressive hooks, beats, basslines and some voice to match! Next up is an instrumental song called The Kill, that immediately greets you with it's pummeling bassline. No vocals, but a lot of sounds/layers/lines to keep you entertained (and moving). It's a very common thing with CC songs, you can keep listening to some of the tracks for ages and you still keep discovering ... Read review

Hardcore till i die
Review of Hardcore 'Til I Die (Mixed By Re-Con & Squad-E) - Various Artists by DCR16

Advantages: enough songs to satisfy you
Disadvantages: some songs are to extreme

If your into the Extreme Hardcore night scene then this CD pack is for you. With 3 Cds mixed by RE-CON, SQUAD-E and the best of HTID and a total of 46 songs it is well worth the money. I would say CD 1 has the bigest club anthems on with such stars as ultrabeat, Darren Styles and Bass bumpers. Disc 2 also has big nightlife tunes with Alex K, Cascada, and sy & Unknown. The let down with this disc is most of the songs are pure hardcore, dont get ...
...this cd but disc two wasnt for me. and last but not least, disc 3. For me this is the highlight of the whole pack, its not to extreme but not to dull. This disc has such artists as United in dance, Clear vu and Apollo. Not well known arists but given the chance are very good and promesing. ... Read review

People Hold On - The Best Of Coldcut
Review of People Hold On (The Best Of Coldcut) - Coldcut by Art007

Advantages: Wide styles of tunes from a few years ago.
Disadvantages: Not a lot

This is a good album. Coldcut have been around since 1987. Not particularly mainstream in the UK, they've worked with the likes of Lisa Stansfield, Yazz and Queen Latifah. "People hold on" with Stansfield starts off the compilation being a pop classic. "Autumn Leaves" is a beautiful song and appears at the end only this time in French. There are many 12" mixes included on here. The packaging and artwork is at the least, weird! But highly amusing! ... Read review
