Unfortunately, In Silico marks Pendulum's downfall whilst bringing disappointment to the world of Drum and Bass. I say this because after Pendulum's masterful debut album "Hold Your Colour", it seems that the Australian band have effectively become both corporate & mainstream and are willing to sell their integrity. It is evident in this album that Pendulum have tried and failed to create a soundtrack that incorporates parts of rock music and DnB, ...
...not help but dance to in their previous album. That said, sure, In Silico isn't terrible, and it won't give you ear cancer. There are some decent melodies & tracks that are reminiscent of the band we all know and love. In addition, there are some parts of this album that remind me of MUSE's "Black Holes and Revelations". Disadvantages: Perhaps dissapointing for people who wanted something slightly heavier

Calibe is one of the greatest electronic music producers of our time. His use and arrangement of samples within his tracks are, in my opinion, second to none. His style of drum and bass production is extensively varied, however he seems to retain a certain something in each track that makes them instantly recognisable as his own. ...changes, much like it does in "Another Planet" on the album "Hold Your Colour" except without the "Suddenly there was a change voiceover". The synths play a lot more of a role during this part of the song, the bass is still pushing through at a fast pace making for a thoroughly enjoyable song for the duration- 5 mins 28 secs. My rating for this track would be 10/10, switching from a fast pace to a slow pace at many times in the song I have enjoyed ... Read review

I would only recommend to buy this CD, as well as others of the same type, if you truly like drum n bass and if you truly are a bass-head. Fair enough some people just like to listen to Drum n Bass and Jungle at parties, clubs or raves whatever. Overall i think the CD is good as is Jungle Sound one, also mixed by Pendulum and MCMC. There are a good few mixes on the CD that don't follow the original versions of the songs, this could be seen as ...
...much you like the song in the first place. Personally i think its a good thing, because like with most remixes you can get a bit of variation on the songs that you love. There are a few Pendulum songs on here, and anyone who likes drum n bass likes Pendulum. Voyager, Masochist and Another Planet included. Advantages: Good range of drum and bass tunes. Lots of classics
Disadvantages: Bad if you are after the current style of drum and bass or dirty tunes.

Notice i say mixed, so if you are expecting the tunes to be played on their own, unmixed, in their original state then this is not for you. It is recorded as a constant mix. ...Warhead, which as people into drum and bass will know, is a grimey tune. Anyway, I can appreciate this cd, although not mixed as well as a lot of mixes i have heard, it is a good cd. A lot of the drops are spot on. For example I really like when Goldie mixes Barcelona by D.Kay & Epsilon/Stamina MC into Brown Paper Bag by Roni Size.
