Rainbow
Advantages: Offers a unique interpretation of classical music. Disadvantages: Can blend too easily into the background.
...If you are expecting such pieces as Ferry Corsten's Remix of 'Barber's Adagio For Strings' then you should not buy this album because the music on it bears little resemblance to the popular dance version. However, you should buy it if you have an open minded approach to classical music, because in my opinion that is the genre to which this album belongs. Others would disagree, such as the directors of the classical music chart who for some reason ... ...Orbit has taken several classical pieces by well known composers (such as Beethoven, Satie and Barber) and arranged them in his own, individual modern style. Some have been arranged with subtlety, such as 'Barber's Adagio For Strings', and don't sound particularly different compared to the originals. Others are more adventurous, such as 'Cavellera Rusticana'. They still sound like the originals whilst at the same time being innovative, creative and ...

Fantastic - even when sober
Advantages: fantastic album, relaxing Disadvantages: costs £17
I first heard this album whilst completly drunk of my head at a 3 day local festival, and had the intelligence to scribble the name of the CD onto my hand. When I bought the album, I was pleasantly surprised to find that the album is just as good when sober.
From the beginning of "little fluffy clouds", a song consisting of sample synth loops held together by a woman talking about the little fluffy clouds of her youth, you know that the album is ... ..."earth", a track consisting mainly of biblical samples ("and they shall plant vinyards, and drink the wine"), which is another fantastic track.
Although the album only consists of 5 tracks (clocking in at just over 50 mins), and costs £16.99 due to it being a UK import, it is well worth it.
Fantastic. ...

Advantages: Loads of great tracks Disadvantages: Electro isn't for everyone!
Back to Mine – The Orb
The Back to Mine series is a series of records that are compiled by well known musicians and DJ’s to give to their fans an idea of what the music would be like if they went back to a party with them. The CD has the slogan “A personal collection for after hours grooving” which pretty much sums it up. The series started back on the 1st February 1999 and was compiled then by DJ Nice Warren. Since then there have been a further ... ...7 in the UK charts back in 1990. Track nine is one of The Orb’s own tracks and is another silly one. About a land that is never in the same place twice that was built by a magician who was very fond of flowers and vegetables. Another one of my favourites.
Back to Aphex twin for “Blue Calx”, a track that seems to be building up to a mad, heavy dance beat but never does… Just keeps floating along in the land of ambient noises… It sounds a bit like ...

The "Miles_Gurtu" experiment
Advantages: A blend of intricate beats, varied jazzy melodies and experimental soundscapes. Disadvantages: Over-tweaking disrupts the ambience occasionally. No mainstream appeal. Some tracks don't work.
Take a Swiss-Italian ambient trance producer (Robert Miles) and blend together with an Indian percussionist (Trilok Gurtu). Add other talented musicians to the mix and allow to simmer gently, making sure you season generously with electronic sculpting and processing. The resulting album is an interesting fusion of acoustic instruments, electronic processed sounds, intricate beats, jazz and experimental soundscapes. Released in 2004, “MilesGurtu” ... ...the dream trance that he became famous for. It builds on his previous album “Organik” (released in 2001), which was his first attempt at creating an experimental sound. This album is characterised by being completely instrumental although 3 tracks feature vocal samples. Double bass, strings, guitar and rhodes performances feature frequently, creating delicate melodies whilst complex beats are generated from drums and tabla. Many tracks shift and ...

When I saw this product advertised on the television I was so excited because I have all the gatecrasher albumns and I just loved the idea of a best of gatecrasher albumn but then you get the the idea of, is it worth buying it cos you will have most thesongs alreadyalbeit on 10 different albumns. So there is the first good point of this albumn, all the classics on one albumn that you can stick on, on a saturday night and dance away till your hearts ... ...tunes and some not so good tunes so like me I was tempted just to buy it off itunes and download the tunes I liked but at 99p each I found I like more than £9.99 worth of tunes so I bought the albumn. Theres some old time favourites and some current classics with some great remixes and with 3 cds you really do get your moneys worth. Its a mixture of house and dance and a little bit of trance thrown in. You can dance to this music and it really would ...
