A lovely down tempo album to be lazy to

Advantages: A beautifully produced collection of 'lazy' music
Disadvantages: None this album is sublime

Air have grown up with this album, it for me is their best. I know most people think I'm mad, but for me each track conjures up a different image of what I would be doing had I all the money I need. They've kept away from the more upbeat drum and synth line programming the Moon Safari had and replaced it with really intricate layering of instruments, and have brought out their guitars. that just seem to float around you, forcing you to relax. The Virgin Suicides OST

Advantages: Captures emotions brilliantly and is easy to listen to.
Disadvantages: May be a little repetitive for some, as the same tune is adapted throughout.

Advantages: An under-rated gem, brimming with lush sounds
Disadvantages: Accusations of pretentiousness are not wholly unfounded

Tangerine Dreams finest (half) hour.

Advantages: One of the best 'electronic' albums ever
Disadvantages: It is somewhat short

...my neck tingle. Rubycon Part Two starts off with a scary build up of electronic howling wind and a chorus of distorted male voices bringing you into the realm of a horror film. It is similar to some of the pieces used by Kubrick in his 2001 movie (by composer György Ligeti). Suddenly a fast throbbing electronic beat bursts out from the black mass and starts mutating, turning and twisting, dragging lush synth sounds along with it. The piece settles ...

The "Miles_Gurtu" experiment

Advantages: A blend of intricate beats, varied jazzy melodies and experimental soundscapes.
Disadvantages: Over-tweaking disrupts the ambience occasionally. No mainstream appeal. Some tracks don't work.

Take a Swiss-Italian ambient trance producer (Robert Miles) and blend together with an Indian percussionist (Trilok Gurtu). Add other talented musicians to the mix and allow to simmer gently, making sure you season generously with electronic sculpting and processing.
