Advantages: Good range of drum and bass tunes. Lots of classics
Disadvantages: Bad if you are after the current style of drum and bass or dirty tunes.

...As a listener/dj of drum and bass, i recognised a few of these tunes and thought why not. There are a lot of timeless tunes all mixed by Goldie. Notice i say mixed, so if you are expecting the tunes to be played on their own, unmixed, in their original state then this is not for you. It is recorded as a constant mix. ...Warhead, which as people into drum and bass will know, is a grimey tune. Anyway, I can appreciate this cd, although not mixed as well as a lot of mixes i have heard, it is a good cd. A lot of the drops are spot on. For example I really like when Goldie mixes Barcelona by D.Kay & Epsilon/Stamina MC into Brown Paper Bag by Roni Size. Dj Hypes Drum 'n' Bass Arena

Advantages: good music,various artists, good value for money, enjoyable
Disadvantages: not for absolutely everyone

I have had Dj Hypes drum and bass arena album since around christmas last year, and i am still not bored of it. It has a lot of different artists on it, with a range of different types of drum and bass. I love to listen to this album when driving, tidying the house, or just doing nothing. it is a really good back round album when i have friends round too, as everyone enjoys the music it has on it. Advantages: Nice, fast dance music that'll will get you moving
Disadvantages: Doesn't "Fell" the same as their last effort...More mainstream :(

...raving all over the place in a trance, but it just seems different./ The sounds seem smoother and better blended though, there aren't any real grinding bass line, But it's still fast, frantic stuff! If you loved the first album and other singles they put out, you have to listen to this! Its good, but not as good as previous efforts. But fans will love it and its a good place to start if your just discovering the fantastic sounds these guys produce ...

Darkness vs Light

Advantages: Great Innovation, huge beats
Disadvantages: Two tracks are overly commerical and bland

Photek's (alias Rupert Parkes) second album sees him making a giant move away from the dark mathematical drum and bass approach of his debut album ‘Modus Operandi’. Where as this previous work has seen Photek lurking in shadowy alleyways twisting and distorting noir jazz breaks into new forms, ‘Solaris’ sees Parkes striding into the sunny uplands.
