Psy-Trance Euphoria 3CD (John '00' Fleming)
Review of Psy-Trance Euphoria (Mixed By John '00' Fleming) - Various Artists by
Art007
Advantages: A different, new style of Trance
Disadvantages: Not to all tastes.
A good album, I bought this 3 CD set in 2008 for £15 off the net. First of all, don't expect this to be a normal Euphoria CD. Most of the music is Goa(India) derived and it is a completely new sound in terms of usual trance. Headed by John '00' Fleming and 00 db. It has a distinct Asian feel to it, which I think is rather good, but I don't think it would suit all tastes. Many of the artists I have never heard of. John Fleming gives good commentary ...

another dose of euphoria
Review of White Label Euphoria Vol.2 (Mixed By John '00' Fleming) - John 00 Fleming by
mashed_marc
Advantages: good tunes
Disadvantages: might not have heard of everyone
its hard to review a cd, but i own this one so i will give it a go. the music is generaly good, not all of it i have heard of i have to confess, and its more background music than the type of cd you get out for a party. Its mixed to gether quite well, fleming is a well known dj, mainly working with trance, so he was right at home here and did some top mixes. To sum this up, if ou are a fan of euphoria, rare music or john fleming then buy this now, ...

Logistics - Reality Checkpoint
Review of Reality Checkpoint - Logistics by
ismism
Advantages: A variety of the best in Drum and Bass from Jump-Up to Tech Step
Disadvantages: Not as good as his 1st Album
...summer with his new album Reality Checkpoint. It features some of the best of Drum And Bass's sub genres, from Liquid, to Dubstep, With its warm bassed and Random Vocal Samples this album shows that Matt still has what it takes to make wicked tunes. Where as his 1st album seemed to be every track he had ever made this second album seemed really planed out, and had lots of time spent over it. in an interview with Tony Colman (Co-Owner of Hospital ... ...he had thought about the sonic design of this album more, where as his first album was only decided as a double disk at he last minute.
So whether you are raving you socks off at your local Night Club, Field or Warehouse, or whether you are just wanting a home listening drum an bass album, this is the one for you, it features tracks with a Techno vibe such as Daybreak Sequence, and Jungle style 96, and a Dubstep track Cocoon, this is the most diverse ...

The real sound of the underground
Review of Untrue - Burial by
Jonny5sk
Advantages: Excellent mixing, sampling, lyrics and blend of an album
Disadvantages: The argument of "What is Dubstep and is this it?"
Untrue is the second album by dubstep producer, Burial. But, first let's get an idea of the genre, dubstep, which, since 2006, seems to be slowly rising in popularity but still leaves most people (including myself) completely confused as to what it is. Basically, dubstep is a genre, which has its influence from the London's garage scene in early 2000 and also a drum and bass feel towards it.
But, if you're still confused, then Untrue is a good template ... ...this album with others is difficult, if you're going towards the direction of Massive Attack or Boards of Canada, I would say it's a mash up between those two artists, but, simply put, Untrue is its own unique sound, and its dubstep, but if you are still unsure, who cares. ...

Time to destroy!
Review of Frost EP (Sent To Destroy) - Combichrist by
Octaine
Advantages: 2 killer tracks, 1 fun song + remixes
Disadvantages: It's an EP
Combichrist's genre isn't easy to define but I'll give it a shot: CC is an in-your-face mix of techno, industrial, electro, alternative music and a some serious rock'n'roll attitude. Frontman/producer Andy Laplegua is not a stranger to razorsharp perfection when it comes to producing his music. This release is no exeption to the aforementioned description! We start off strong with the main track of the EP: Sent to destroy! A song which either invites ... ...to destroy, both induced by the adrenaline rush you get from this strong opener. Agressive hooks, beats, basslines and some voice to match! Next up is an instrumental song called The Kill, that immediately greets you with it's pummeling bassline. No vocals, but a lot of sounds/layers/lines to keep you entertained (and moving). It's a very common thing with CC songs, you can keep listening to some of the tracks for ages and you still keep discovering ...
