Advantages: Dark brooding and moody with beautiful moments
Disadvantages: Just like a gothic teenager - not to everyones taste

First outing from Infected Mushroom and what do we get? Dark neo-gothic tinged industrial soundscapes, pounding drums with pulsating basslines, guitar stabs, orchestral passages, positively frightning vocal samples and that's all just the first track "Release Me"! Moving on from the sinister opening things lighten up ever so slightly but this album still has a more paronoid edgy sound than their later albums. IM are already showing their pure musical ...
...crescendos and keeping the musical ideas flowing the whole time. They are nowhere near as repetitive as other artists in this genre and indeed in almost all dance/electronic music. In fact "The Gathering" is probably their only album that actually falls squarely inside the PsyTrance pigeonhole as their later work develops their quirky sound into something unique and is forever going off in tangents, let's not forget the singing! A Must Have Album!!

Advantages: Superb tracks
Disadvantages: Negligible

This album is arguably one of the best by Infected Mushroom. They have evolved better sound techniques and mixings with a blend of improvised vocal and guitar playing. It is a combination of goa/psy trance and electro-synth pop and hip-hop The sound clarity and quality is looking better with every album they are coming out. Advantages: Great psy trance album, not repetitive
Disadvantages: won't appeal to hardcore spy trance fans

...just not up to usually IM standard. IM have released their new album Infected Mushroom - The supervisor, which is, I am happy to say a vast improvement over the last. The supervisor - Mediocre track, probably the weakest track on the album, this more of a commercial psytrance track than anything else. This track would be at home at a festival or similar event. Ratio Shmatio: amazing song, good build with a climax just like in the first IM songs ...
...track IM have incorporated Michele Adamson's voice into it and have mixed her singing into the track superbly. Meduzz: This track moves off in to the more orchestral direction and is lot darker than most of the other tracks. The machine sounds in the track also add good character to this track Cities of the future: I really like this track most people don't because Duvdey sings in it . The "Miles_Gurtu" experiment

Advantages: A blend of intricate beats, varied jazzy melodies and experimental soundscapes.
Disadvantages: Over-tweaking disrupts the ambience occasionally. No mainstream appeal. Some tracks don't work.

Take a Swiss-Italian ambient trance producer (Robert Miles) and blend together with an Indian percussionist (Trilok Gurtu). Add other talented musicians to the mix and allow to simmer gently, making sure you season generously with electronic sculpting and processing. The resulting album is an interesting fusion of acoustic instruments, electronic processed sounds, intricate beats, jazz and experimental soundscapes. Released in 2004, “MilesGurtu” ...

Slightly disappointed but still good

Advantages: some golden oldies
Disadvantages: alot of the tunes you will have on the older gatecrasher cds

When I saw this product advertised on the television I was so excited because I have all the gatecrasher albumns and I just loved the idea of a best of gatecrasher albumn but then you get the the idea of, is it worth buying it cos you will have most thesongs alreadyalbeit on 10 different albumns. So there is the first good point of this albumn, all the classics on one albumn that you can stick on, on a saturday night and dance away till your hearts ...
...tunes and some not so good tunes so like me I was tempted just to buy it off itunes and download the tunes I liked but at 99p each I found I like more than £9.99 worth of tunes so I bought the albumn. Theres some old time favourites and some current classics with some great remixes and with 3 cds you really do get your moneys worth.
